My check in experience unfortunately affected the overall rating. When i arrived there was no one at reception even though the notice was until 6pm for office hours.
I had received a call at 4.15 asking of my check in time but as i was travelling at the time, couldnt answer the phone. I arrived before 5.30
There was no message telling me to use the key box code or how to. I rang the land line number the manager had asked me to ring back on only to get a voice message back.
After waiting, with nowhere to go i went off looking for shop to get a drink. After leaving 3 messages i eventually received a call back from a male who told me to use a code for the key box. I went back to the motel and followed the instructions several times to no avail. Luckily he had rung using a mobile so i was able to ring him back.
He sorted it by giving a different code and a different room. I was tired and had a shower and boiled water for a coffee. There was no milk in the fridge!!!
The room was very clean and bed very comfortable but what spoilt my stay was that at no time was i apologised to. I had done nothing wrong. I arrived within the reception hours listed, yet was left on my own with all indications that the manager had left for the day with nothing in place for me. Things go wrong. Frustrating yes, but fixable with a sorry. While i appreciated the gentleman who eventually fixed the problem the manager had left behind, a simple apology was in order. None was given by anyone. Poor
