When got in room, it smelled like Pee. Checked with night shift front desk. Jessica came in and agreed. She said “oh yeah I can smell it”, then then took her tools and cleaned out the AC air filter, and air freshener. About 30 min later reasonable.
Before left, Jessica said ok will take care of this with day manger. Nice that she acknowledged
Then in morning, mentioned what happened to day manger.. Every mention of what happened was responded with an answer. Basically brushed it off, that essentially was an excuse, not our fault. A simple acknowledgement and or apology would have felt better.
Later came back and did not see me, mentioned “stupid..” “could have gone somewhere else..”
Lessons to be learned:
1. Acknowledge first, don’t have to agree… goes a long way to defuse situation
2. Keep quiet is better, never know when someone is listening…
Another day of Business 101.
Basically good hotel overall, good job for breakfast, we expect problems it is 2023 , a few years after Covid, and no where to get workers
1 minute of bad over rules 12 hours of good. A suggestion for next time. No more Super 8 for me.
