Just returned from a 6 day journey through New England, and our first stop at the Grafton Inn was our best of the entire trip. The colors were just changing, and stunning peaceful long walks up Main street from right outside the Inn’s door each morning showcased the foliage. Our room was upstairs in the Main building, with a very comfy king bed, and accessible by stairs or elevator. The breakfasts are amazing! Large servings, and everything home made. The pancakes were the best my husband has ever had. And my homemade granola with fruit and Vermont yogurt (my favorite) was so plentiful, I could hardly finish eating it. The Inn is a perfect starting point to fabulous day trips. We Inn suggested a “driving tour” of historic covered bridges in the area that took us all day, and followed a path that took us right back to the Inn. We ended each day at the Inn’s Phelps Barn, a beautiful structure on the property with casual dining and a bustling and fun bar in the loft, where we met locals and visitors alike. (Shout out to our bartender Wendy!). All in all, a perfect stay. I was here 37 years ago, and had so many great memories of this place. So glad I returned to find the same beautiful Inn in one of the region’s most gorgeous settings.
