We have stayed at Vida Mar since 2017 and absolutely love it! The Ocean View Buffet breakfast and dinner are really good with fantastic selection. The pools are really nice. The staff are all very friendly, especially Suzie who up till this visit was always cooking our eggs at breakfast time. She always greets EVERYONE with a happy greeting, making us all feel special ❤️ . Unfortunately (for us) this time she is only at her egg “station” for two days per week, which made us all very sad. The other members of staff serving are pleasant but she is special and an asset to the hotel. I did talk to Customer Relations who told me the management have decided that others in their “team” should learn all skills, requiring rotation of staff. I understand this but so many people know Suzi and she remembers us all. She is the highlight of our breakfasts at Vida Mar, her photo even appearing on their promotional information. Bring back Suzi!😂

One of the world's great hotels, Reid's does not disappoint. We had a ten night stay recently (Feb 2024) in a deluxe sea view room. Everything about Reid's is a five star experience starting every day with a fantastic breakfast. All the staff go that extra mile to make your stay as memorable as possible. We dined once in the Michelin starred Willam restaurant, which was excellent. So too is the Italian, Villa Cipriani, which we used on two occasions. Our room (564) was great from where we could step out into the garden. Beds are super comfortable and every room as a fully stocked minibar from which you can help yourself to free soft drinks which are topped up on a daily basis. Funchal centre is around a tweny minute walk away down the hill, which we did more or less every day of our wonderful stay. It's not a cheap experience, but you get what you pay for. This was our third stay at Reid's and will definately not be the last !

We had to book last minute as my son had been taken ill and we needed to stay on the island for an additional two nights. Carla on reception was fantastic and could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The hotel was exceptional and made a difficult situation comfortable.

我們在公寓裏呆了8天,喜歡它。房間大小不錯,大部分你需要自己滿足。我們經常會到迷你超市/酒吧/咖啡館喝咖啡/糕點/啤酒/酒/水...工作人員很友好,房間每天都化妝,毛巾每隔一天換一次,牀上用品每4天換一次,上面提到的很乾淨。走進豐沙爾或沿着另一個方向的 promonaide 散步。步行到豐沙爾的遠端大約25分鐘。牀是單人牀,但很容易推在一起。你得到了鍋,鍋,盤子,水壺,軟木螺絲,餐具,但不要忘記洗液體和布料。提供小凝膠和洗髮水。海灘毛巾是額外的租用。房間沒有空調,不是我們需要的。在富沙爾,它感覺很特別,所有的聖誕節都在展出,所有的聖誕節都在晚上點燃,直到週日1月8日,當它都被包裝起來的時候。從Madpoint租了一輛車(推薦他們!!)在當地的購物中心,幾天時間,可以參觀大部分島嶼。公寓真的物有所值。總的來說是一次極好的體驗

I have no idea how this hotel is 4 star, completely overgraded. The main let down is the food. It is at best average and I would definitely not ever go for all inclusive like we did. All inclusive does not include the additional restaurant, you still pay extra for that. Breakfast very average , certainly no lovely omelettes like you might regularly see at many 4 star all inclusive. It really is just like a below average school canteen. But it is the lunch and evening meal that is biggest let down, minimal choice, often cold, very badly cooked tough pieces meat and unappetising fish, no decent salad bar just a handful of salad options, minimal ice cream choice. The dining room cramped and dingy for an 11 floor large hotel. Only 2 lifts for 11 floors and tiny lift takes 2 people 2 suitcases and it’s full! Hotel needs a refurb and lowered to 3 star on food alone. Staff civil but apart from cleaners in rooms not over friendly or chatty. Rooms cleaned well that’s a positive. But don’t go here for anything more than bed and breakfast… lovely meals out in other restaurants as the meals here were such a disappoin**ent unfortunately Worst all inclusive food in a hotel in over 30 years

The staff were extremely helpful and kind. The breakfast was plentiful with enough choice for everyone. They catered well for food intolerances too. The facilities at the hotel were perfect, lovely cool pool, hot jacuzzi and enough sun loungers for all. The location was ideal for walking into Funchal and for walking to the beautiful local restaurants. Ideal base for visiting Madeira. Best restaurants to eat at: Cris's restaurant (straight up the hill from suites) Solar de Ajuda (up the hill and left for 1/2 mile ish) Argentinian Steak house (up the hill and left, then second right along what looks like an industrial road) A restaurant beginning with R next to the Steakhouse (the hotel recommend this one and it was nice).

This is my second visit to this hotel and as the first visit I was not disapointed. Cleanliness of the hotel was excellent and all the staff I encounted were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choice for hot or cold meals. I would not hesitate in reccomending this hotel. This hotel is in the Lido area of Funchal which I find is a really good location, with lots of bars and restaurants in close proximiy to the hotel or for a short plasent walk you have funchal town centre. I'm already planing my visit new year or next year.

Myself and husband along with our daughter, son-in-law and grandson aged 1.5 years had an amazing holiday. The experience from landing in Funchal, transfer to hotel and the most welcoming experience on arriving at Dorisol Mimosa was first class. Yes, some of the external paint work can do with some attention but that is the only issue. The welcome at the main reception was lovely with plenty of information. Rooms are spacious and bright, also cleaned daily. We were b&b which was plentiful and well stocked, kitchen assistant were very pleasant and helpful. The pool area was exceptional clean and relaxed with plenty of sunbed and a small deck area. The facilities such as indoor pool, gym and tennis court are well-maintained. The terrace bar and restaurant was outstanding,.this includes service and amazing food. The most spectacular views from the rooftop bar is breathtaking and we sat and relaxing every evening. Madeira is very hilly and not for folk who have difficulty walking but a stunning island that is self sufficient offering many local produce. Local restaurants are welcoming and give no hassle. The front seafront area is like paradise which we visited daily. Definitely will return to funchal.and Dorisol Mimosa

We picked the hotel for its proximity to the sea front, and to Funchal. This meant it was less than €10 for a Taxi to Old town etc, and also you could walk the Sea front Lido path (with its many bars/restaurants) going west. Our room looked out over carpark and mainly on the Atlantic Ocean, which was wonderful. Hotel bars, pool area, and Happy hour (50%) were all good
