法蘭茲約瑟夫綠洲飯店(Franz Josef Oasis)

Where do I start….5 stars all round. We originally booked to stay here in 2020 but COVID-19 scuppered that plan! This hotel honoured our booking and we have just visited in April 2023. Communication via email was excellent. The rooms are well appointed, spacious and have good quality furniture. The spa bath is a nice touch too. Louis provided an easy check-in process and was very knowledgeable and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our continental breakfast which was good quality too. Yes the motel is a little more expensive than others and it is out of town but I would highly recommend and we would stay again.

We spent 4 weeks touring around the South Island in Feb 2023. Of all the places we stayed, this was by far the most expensive and by far the least impressive. If you intend to stay here, make sure you get a room that looks out to the north, over the meadow. Our room was adjacent to the car park, so no view and need to keep the curtains closed. Ventilation was very limited and zero in the bathroom. It was just a basic motel room despite the "jet" spa bath. No kitchen facilities which are commonly provided in kiwi motels. No on-site dining so you go back to the township and that is quite a few kms down the road. Couldn't get breakfast here and couldn't make our own in the room. I notice their prices are very variable; I guess we hit a peak week. It's a really basic motel room, so it might be OK if you can get a low price, but it's still out of town. I'd recommend to try and stay anywhere else.

Such a beautiful room and convenient location with fabulous grounds and views. Huge room with huge comfy bed, windows and bathroom , everything felt very new. Great staff always available to help and chat. Didn’t try breakfast . If we had stayed longer than two nights would have missed a wardrobe, just a coat stand for all your clothes. But kettle and fridge and glasses etc , dining table and chairs, easy chairs, fire and big TV . Delighted

Very quiet hotel with spectacular views of the night sky. The rooms were nice! The hotel concierge was very polite and helpful! He even made us a map showing us some recommended hikes! We really enjoyed our stay!

A mixed bag! The good - charming and helpful manager, large room, modern fit out. The bad - no ventilation so room was stuffy, some rooms have nice views towards the hills but ours looked over the car park with no privacy, wifi very slow and TV initially not working, some km from town and on-site restaurant very limited. Not a cheap stay and to us, not worth the price

Très bel hôtel, calme et reposant. L'accueil est particulièrement chaleureux et les explications claires et détaillées. La chambre elle-même est grande, pratique et bien équipée. Le silence est total une fois la nuit tombée ce qui est très agréable. Le petit-déjeuner est disponible sur réservation et préparé à la minute, et se compose de salé et de sucré en quantité correcte. L'hôtel propose également le dîner sur réservation, sans quoi il faut reprendre la voiture pour couvrir les quelques minutes qui le séparent de Franz Josef.

Very beautiful,,modernized and excellent resort right outside the main town,,you will get a good breakfast but will have to go to town for lunch and dinner and will also have to hire a cab for that to and fro. Rest rooms are excellent and views are to die for,,

Nice enough hotel and glad we were lucky to have a view of the garden. Bit out of town and not really walkable. Breakfast was very basic and not much of it. All in all overpriced for what it was. Very clean though.

Great place to stay in Franz Josef. Staff is super attentive and helpful!
