This was our first trip to Ireland, and we were very pleased with our stay at the Iveagh Garden Hotel. Greeting was warm and welcoming. Breakfast was still available at 10:20, and our room was ready at 10 AM. The hotel is in an old bank, nicely renovated and decorated with boutique flair. The rooms are very nicely appointed with modern, large bathrooms. The staff throughout are very welcoming and do everything they can to accommodate any requests. The location is also very nice. Harcourt Street is an old are with Brownstone-like buildings, just a block from St. Stephen Garden Park, and only a 10 minute walk to Trinity College.
The only negatives we experienced are: 1) the identical main breakfast choices each morning with eggs, bacon and sausage. They need to add some variety or more options such as pancakes or waffles. We stayed 5 nights so it was like Groundhog Day for breakfast; 2) the corner position and very small bathroom faucet makes it almost impossible to wash your hands and challenging for men to shave as the water basically dumps out above the counter; and 3) training the hotel staff better on how to complete meal/drink or front desk transactions. It took about 15 minutes to check out as the clerk struggled to execute the final credit card transaction, and he also couldn't print a final statement (although i did receive an email copy at the airport).
But all in all, we would highly recommend the Iveagh and would stay there again on our next visit.
