艾爾科爾多瓦飯店(El Cordova)

The suites overlooking the restaurant were incredibly loud! They move the metal restaurant furniture around every morning before 8:00am to clean the restaurant and the noise is awful. The hot tub wasn’t working, and I was there to surf, and would have appreciated soaking my sore muscles. The daytime front desk agent was less than helpful on multiple occasions, and his attitude was quite snarky. $40/night for parking was ridiculous, and the rooms are dated for the price. They were installing a new ADA lift while we were there and we spent several days listening to the contractors cutting metal. the nighttime desk agent was great!

El Cordova is a very quaint hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable, but on the small side. The location is wonderful, right on the main street of Coronado and 1 block from beach . The down side of our stay was the noise from the Mexican restaurant that sits in the middle of the hotel. We were woken up at 6:30-7:00 every morning from staff moving furniture around in the restaurant. The noise in the evening didn’t bother us, they close at 9:30,that was fine since we go to bed late. We weren’t in our room during the day so we don’t know the noise level. Why they would open up a restaurant in the middle of a hotel courtyard is beyond me. Overall, we had a wonderful time in Coronado and will be back but unfortunately not to this hotel. We don’t like being woken up early in the morning when on vacation.

I loved the many onsite restaurants, location and the cute donut shop next door. It was raining and the several walkways that led to our room was just filled with water. There is a drainage issue. My new shoes were soaked and got damaged due to the issue. I disliked the staff person who was an Asian gentleman who checked me in. He was not helpful or friendly at all and when asked where our room was, he just pointed at the courtyard.

Delightful place to stay in lovely Coronado. Close to everything. The staff especially Eliot was simply amazing, a true asset to the company. He went out of his way to be so helpful ! We will certainly return again when we have more time to take in all the sites !

Local and loved the place, but at 0630 until 930 am there was constant loud, banging, courtyard washing, tables and chairs being moved around, maybe power washing. It didn’t end until we checked out. Didn’t get a good nights sleep due to the echoes and early morning cleaning. We were looking to sleep in as my boyfriend just returned from deployment 2 days prior and wanted to have a calm local nights’ stay.

Extremely clean hotel. Wonderful personnel all around. Thanks to William and James for their kindness. I would definitely recommend El Cordova as a wonderful place to stay.

While the property is charming it is in need of renovation and service focus training. The room had a old smell and didn’t feel clean there was mold in the tiles. I was over the restaurant which I was worried would be loud. The person at the front desk told me just go out to dinner and the noise should be over when you get back. The real problem he said were the people cleaning the restaurant we’ve had to speak to them about being too loud in the middle of the night. So I could hear the neighbors clearly and sure enough at 1:30/2 am I was awakened by people yelling in the restaurant and I was tempted to yell down and ask them to keep their voices down! The pool and hot tub heaters were missing parts and freezing cold and I picked the hotel because it had a cute pool. The front desk said oh yeah that’s broken sorry. The beach had sewage signs up saying stay away from the toxic water. Coronado is lovely the location is lovely but I ubered to La Jolla to enjoy the beach. Would have appreciated being alerted to the pool and hot tub not working and they need to up their game on service. It’s very expensive and you pay it all for location I guess. It could be so fabulous if they renovate the rooms. I would’ve appreciated a discount for all the mishaps. I told the front desk about all the issues and not once did anyone follow up with me.

Being located in Coronado, I felt very safe at Cordova. The building itself has paper thin walls so good luck getting any sleep lol. Our front desk concierge walked my partner and I to our room and checked to make sure everything was in order. It was classy but also a bit odd as we’ve never had this experience before. The best part of the hotel is its location because it’s a tad bit run down being over 100 years old and not fully repaired. Overall the experience was pleasant and I don’t regret going there, but I’m not dying to stay again.
