So the hotel was kind of quirky as it also has a Hilton Home brand attached to it. You walk in and stand at one counter and they ask you which hotel you’re checking into, and if it’s the other one, you have to move to the other counter so they can check you in. The room could’ve been cleaner, but overall no issues. Only two blocks to the University of South Carolina. Decent location. Pretty easy to get to. No real problems. Other than it’s a little quirks in some of the doors that you can’t get into from the outside, even with a key card. $13 parking at night was a little steep, and when I booked the reservation it didn’t say anything about that. Just be aware of that.
Nice hotel and in a great location. Very convenient to local restaurants and attractions. The staff was very accommodating and treated me like family. The cleanliness was top tier. definitely will be returning when I come back in town. I would highly recommend staying at this location when you are in town.
The most cleanest Aloft I've ever been too. The staff was super friendly and customer service was far out the best. I would recommend this Aloft in columbia on Harbison to anyone visiting SC. Checking in and out was no hassle at all. Me and my fiancé enjoyed the peace of mind.
LLisa KI cannot pretend to understand what is going on with the operation of this hotel, but I suspect it is grossly understaffed and the staff that is there is overworked. I say this with because in my four nights stay there, never one time did housekeeping even attempt to service my room, the desk staff practically gave me dirty looks every time I passed by them almost daring me to need something and utterly indifferent when I did need something. What did I need? To do laundry. So, note of warning- if you would like to do your own laundry using their machines available to guest, pack quarters. They do not have any quarters to break a dollar of five-dollar bill for you. Why provide them if we cannot USE them? The room- simply put was gross. The bathroom countertop was separating from the wall- and the fix appeared to be nothing but jamming it full of caulk that is also splitting and creating traps for mildew and dust. No trash can in the bathroom, lighting was as awful as a rest area, the mattress sinks down to the box spring the second you put any weight on it. The wi-fi was also down three of the four days I was there, I looked over the other reviews here and see that this is common- so please don't need wi-fi if you plan to stay here. I have previously stayed at the Residence Inn just a couple miles from here- save yourself and spend the extra money, it is well worth it until this hotel is managed better you would be best served to avoid it.
My friends and I booked our stay through ******* and when we showed up it turned out ******* never confirmed our reservation with the hotel so there were no rooms available. Lucky the staff here came to our rescue and was able to get a room that someone had just checked out of ready for us in a couple hours. Julie the front desk manager and her staff had excellent customer service and were very accommodating.
