I really had high hopes, I’m a travel enthusiast and content creator and really wanted to give my followers a budget friendly option for Destin, FL. Unfortunately, the customer service was poor from check in until check out. The front desk lead ‘Travertine’ she wouldn’t give me her name, rolled out the red carpet for the Hilton Diamond member before me. After her 10 minute checkin routine with the Diamond member, she motioned for a teen behind me to step up who had been waiting 5 minutes to purchase a bag of chips. She proceeded to check him out without asking my permission for him to skip in line. Once it was finally my turn to check in, she asked me if I heard the spilll she gave to the diamond member before me or if I needed her to go over everything again.. lol. She told me I was early and an early check in may not be available.. it was 2:15 pm, but no worries.. A room was available and we got it, and proceeded on with our vacation plans. The night before check out. I called the front desk from my cell phone, because the room in my phone did not work. I requested a 1pm check out, it was granted and noted per my discussion with the front desk rep. At 12:15 on check out day, Travertine calls my cell, (I’m at the pool ) She asks me if I’m at the hotel, because housekeeping says that I am still occupying the room. I explained the conversation above and she says that the clerk did not update the system. I tell her I’ll be out by 1, she hangs up, no bye, no I apologize for the misunderstanding. Nothing! At 12:40, I am going to to the room to grab my things and check out, but my key is deactivated. I go to the front desk and first ask for Travetine’s name, she refuses. I then ask to just reactivate my key so I can grab my things and go. She says she doesn’t want to deal with me because of my attitude. At this point we both have attitudes, but she doesn’t like to be on the receiving end. She grabs her GM, and proceeds to interject while I share how poor the service has been. I guess you get what you pay for. I visit Destin often and I normally stay at Henderson Beach Resort ( highly recommended that place) not only are the accommodations and amenities good, but the service is outstanding. Tru, I don’t care how reasonable your prices are, if the service is poor, it dampens the whole vacation experience. Highly suggest some 1 on 1 training, all patreons should be treated equally, regardless of their hotel and economic status or ethnicity.
