An excellent little pub /guesthouse. The staff were very helpful over our 3 night stay . The room was very clean and tidy . Access to the room when the pub was shut was easy and secure. It's a great place for the town centre and the pub has friendly locals and a great pint. We will definitely use it again.

Superb welcome when entering the pub. Nothing is too much trouble. Manager/Owners really welcomes people to this lovely public house in Black Jack Street, Cirencester. Staff equally accommodating and friendly. Beer priced very reasonably in these tough economic times.

We stayed at the Golden Cross for one night. We had a double priced at £100 without breakfast for two. We had to file past a busy bar with our luggage to get to a desk to check in. Then file back past the busy bar to get upstairs to the room. A pain when you have a largish bag. The bathroom was tiny - nowhere to hang the towel. The basin was also minute. The basin's tap in contrast was large and could not be opened fully as it hit the wall so I could only get tepid water out of it. The loo seat was too small for the loo - so there was a gap between the pan and the seat. The sheets had not been ironed and had stains on them - coffee by the looks of it. One of the hand towels had a red stain on it. There is a side entrance for residents (once you have the keys). Not the easiest of doors to open and when we left, we just dropped the keys into a letterbox. I will never stay there again.
