堪尼加度假飯店(Kanishka Retreat)

I stayed in the resort for 1 night. I have given 3 stars because of mixed experience PROS: It's quite a new resort in the lap of nature. 2. The breakfast option is good, but not too yummy. In fact they have given few things complementary which is not in buffet like parathas. 3. Rooms are good, all are valley View with balcony. So book any room, you will get the same size and aminities room. The only difference is the height of the room for a better view from the room. So I would suggest taking a basic room. Which is on the ground floor. 4. Good for kids. The guy at reception took good care of my 10 month son. CONS 1.They had a single lift which was not working. Hence it got very painful going 3 floors/5 floors up down. 2. Food is not that tasty. 3. Too much insects, cockroaches, flies etc in the resort. Though they give a balcony, you can't sit there in the evening. The lights of the balcony attract insects. 4. No DJ, Everywhere they have done advertisements for dj night, But there is no such thing. It's a false promise. 5. Bit expensive. It's actual worth is around 4000 with breakfast. If you are getting above that, it's an expensive deal. Don't go for it. 6. Far from Chail and tourist attractions. And not on much height. So if you are going for actual hills, take one at more height.

Firstly it is situated 9 km before chail.you have to stay in the resort itself and if you want to visit chail palace and kali tibba you have to drive approx 30_35 minutes. It is the night drive that might scare you. No light at all and if u are stuck somewhere help is difficult to find. About resort View is good but be prepared for insects around rooms, in open areas and some in room too. Room rent is hefty as compared to other hotels. Parking is too steep, you need to be good experienced driver to take out your car. Food is expensive as there is no option for the guest to go out and have something. All most five star rates and still you have to wait for 45 minutes for your order preparation that too in season that is in June when there all 16 rooms are occupied. Rooms are small for four bedded types. Actually they are taking advantage of sofa cum bed. They charge almost double the tariff of single room in a four bedded room saying it becomes a full sized bed while it is only 5.3 ft bed means if u are above 5.6 then be prepared to have your legs dangling in air. My room washroom door lock was not working, first I complained and it was corrected. Then jet spray was not working and the shower was a tap itself it was throwing water only as a tap.

Kanishka… Good resort in a great location, nothing more one can ask for holiday where you want to spent time with family and enjoy nature to rejuvenate. I stayed for 3 nights here, perfect sunset view and valley from private balcony, spacious enough for couple and a kid to accommodate. Quiet and calm perfect place to hide out from noise, one can clearly hear birds, peacock chirping. Staff were attentive and professional. Restaurant was good. One could clearly see the emphasis of staff on quality, services and customer satisfaction. Sarthak- hotel ***ager was a great help and I must say key difference to ensure great customer satisfaction. Overall, had an amazing experience staying at the resort.. Location wise one couldn't ask for more, having view of sunset, valley and mountains was just mesmerizing. I would love to visit you guys again. Keep up the good work!

Very nice breakfast buffet. Very clean rooms and other areas. Nice staff.

The friendly and hospitable staff more than make up for the fact this is not walkable from the market. Loved the peace, tranquility, good food and pure air here at Kanishka Himachal

Excellent Experience of staying at Kanishka Resort. Very warm hospitality by each and every staff member, special mention for Hitesh, Abhishek, Vinod, Kamal, kulbhushan. Superb food, beautiful property & landscaping. Highly recommended for family stay.
