I don't think I ever had such a bad experience at a Marriott hotel. Front desk told me they couldn't find my reservation and even when I showed them the confirmation I got from Expedia they couldn't care less. I called Expedia and their customer service tried to get in touch with the hotel staff. I could hear the phone ringing but the front desk lady would just walk away when it rang. I told her that's Expedia calling to clarify my reservation but she was flat out rude and said that's not the hotel's problem. I asked for a manager, she told me the manager will be there at 6am tomorrow so I can come back then. All of this, while I was at the hotel, late at night, with a hungry and tire toddler. She didn't care and you could tell she hates her job. Half an hour later, the ”absent” manager turned out was actually around. I approached him and, while he was a little more (not much) polite than the front desk lady, he wouldn't want to help and kept on blaming Expedia (he, as well, refused to take call from Expedia escalation manager who was trying to help locating the reservation). It was obvious they have an issue with Expedia, however, they were punishing the customer for that. Eventually Expedia made another reservation with me on the phone and they couldn't claim there is no reservation. The whole check-in experience took 2 hours. Check-out wasn't any more pleasant but there wasn't much there with the exception of the $4.95 fee which they insisted on charging for premium internet, although I tried to explain that, for a Platinum member, premium internet is free.

The employees at this Hotel are super friendly and Hospitable. They ALL speak to you. They made me feel very welcome. Tammy was one of the sweetest. I was sitting in their lounge area and couldn’t help but over hear her interact with all the guest. I thought, ‘she has really found a job that makes her heart sing. She is truly in the right job with her personality.’ Francis was friendly with me too. After she set up the breakfast items, she was curious about what I was working on and I asked her to allow me to explain it to her. Little did she know, she helped me get a little nerves out since I was preparing for a presentation that I was about to do with a local business nearby. Pros: Friendly professional Service, clean everything, feels like home away from home. Cons: the Hotel is currently under construction, but it did not matter because they don’t put you in rooms near the construction.

I can’t believe this is a Wyndham hotel! It was well located but otherwise very unsatisfactory. Filthy floors- I wore white socks and they were black within minutes. Furniture was straight out of Salvation Army, scratched and mismatched. Totally tacky and in desperate need of upgrading. Moldy tile in bath. Broken door lock to enter building. Elevator tacky with broken flooring and some kind of goopy stuff on the wall. The strategy for cleaning seems to be spraying room deodorizer. No maid service so we had to ask for towels. Husband had to return our used towels before receiving clean ones (were we going to steal them?) We stayed here with our two dogs, $20 each daily (x2). We couldn’t cancel our reservation without losing all money. We payed over $100 daily with pet charges . Noisy hallways, Loud voices and slammed doors at 5 am. Oh! The lobby is a welcoming and modern as a Flop house. Just a terrible dirty crappy place. Never again.

I had a poor experience at the Sheraton in Novi while staying with a family member to celebrate a belated Christmas as we weren't able to get together around Christmas proper. While I was upgraded to a room on the club lounge floor, the guest room I received was not clean by any definition of clean. There was hair on the desk and desk chair, hair on the toilet, hair under the toilet seat, hair on the wrapped bar of soap and soap dish, stains on the desk, and stains on the face tissue container. The single bathrobe hanging in the closet appeared to have been previously worn and didn't have a cincture. On my reservation I specifically requested only 100% feather pillows. My reservation also requested a bathrobe, slippers, extra pillows and extra towels. I didn't receive any of those things. The four pillows were four polyester down-alternative pillows. Those pillows are horrible. They always feel like someone stuffed cotton balls in a pillowcase. During check-in I noticed a sign at the front desk saying daily housekeeping is not provided, unless specially requested. The major cleanliness issues that I experienced are a direct result of what happens when hotels don't clean rooms and other spaces each and every day. I received zero Marriott Bonvoy elite status recognition. Specifically, I was not offered the choice at check-in of breakfast in the restaurant, an amenity or points. I complained to the general manager, who to his credit acknowledged the lack of cleanliness was unacceptable, fully apologized and took responsibility. To resolve the issue, he offered to comp my stay and ensure that the room was thoroughly cleaned while we were out of the room and off-property at a nearby shopping mall. He also apologized for the lack of Bonvoy recognition and provided the $100 cash compensation that is required by Marriott for not offering guest with platinum or higher Bonvoy status the choice at check-in of breakfast in the restaurant, an amenity or points. When we returned, the room was properly cleaned. The pillows were replaced with feather pillows, although none of the feather pillows had pillow protectors or pillowcase liners. Two clean bathrobes and two pairs of slippers were placed in the closet. The general manager was also kind enough to leave a bottle of wine in the room. My family member was really appreciative of that gesture. Despite the issues, the staff that I encountered throughout the stay were polite, welcoming and hospitable. That aside, there was zero excuse for the cleanliness issues or the lack of attention to what was specified on the reservation The club lounge was open with an average evening offering that included a selection of assorted cheeses, crackers, grapes, fruit and some basic canapés. Besides free nonalcoholic drinks, an honor bar featured cheap house wine ($5 retail bottles of wine) selling for $5 a glass. The club lounge is a nice smaller space. Most staff quite friendly and helpful! I have the app, and am a Bonvoy member so check in was a breeze! Was given an 8th floor room, so while the view was pretty good (even over the parking lot) the bummers were that 1) ice machine and vending had been removed, were only on floors 2, 4, & 6 so had to travel to get ice 2) the concierge lounge was closed, even for just sitting & enjoying the lake view with a book and coffee, 3) the hotel key took forever to alert the elevator that I belonged on the 8th floor - numerous swipes were needed. I did appreciate that not everyone could access this floor so it was fairly quiet. The room had been remodeled, the bathroom was lovely (that shower!!!) but most furniture was older, seemed just set where ever. Having a comfy chair was nice, fridge was tiny and even tho I had to ask for a microwave, it got to me super quick. Food in the 2 restaurants was good, good portion sizes. Beds were very comfy, slept pretty well. Requests for extra towels was met immediately. Had an issue with bed lamps & outlets but again, was dealt with immediately. The biggest bummer for me, is that the pool was closed and seems to be permanent. Looked like it was an amazing pool area! Weather was dreary so couldn’t enjoy the grounds much but looks like it would be great to walk around, outdoor fire pits weren’t on but looked like a nice feature. The 1 elevator sounds kind of scary sometimes tho it got the job done. If the restaurants do room service I couldn’t see where to do that. Coffee maker has no directions or stir sticks. Lotion/shampoo samples were very nice. Great TV channel options.
