MCP falsely advertised 5 star accommodations. The hotel itself may be 5 star but they put us in another annex called the residences that was 3 star max. They charge 5 star prices and then put you in grotesque accommodations that have been added to the hotel. Their ‘regular’ guests stay in the hotel but if you’re not one of those privileged as such, you will be put in very sub standard accommodations.

We have been clients of the hotel for a number of years, always at the same period. Unfortunately, this year, things have deteriorated significantly. Apart from the main Restaurant and the Grill, where things remain excellent, most of the staff is new and the service in general is far below expectations, with a special Darwin award for the concierge desks. I emailed to complain about a series of points when I was still there, but nobody replied - another bad sign in my opinion.

From the moment we arrived and were taxied to the hotel to the lovely goodbye by the manager as we awaited our ride to the train station we were impressed. The electric cars waiting for you in this car free town were a welcome touch. My husband and I stayed at quite a few 5 star hotels over several weeks in Switzerland and the service here was unparalleled. We were treated to a drink at the lovely bar because there was a mere 15 minute wait due to several couples checking in before us. It was a relaxing and thoughtful touch to the start of what we were to expect in care and consideration. We booked through the Fine Hotels program and, while I’m sure it had some effect, I’m certain every person would be treated with the utmost respect and I would recommend a stay here to everyone I know. The facilities are everything you want at a 5 star stay without the stuffy old world feel. I was particularly fond of the lovely buffet breakfast to be had at your leisure without the need to dress for a meal. Maybe I’m showing my youth, but I’d recommend this hotel for a younger generation without a care for formality as well as my parents. I would also like to thank the concierge for our dinner recommendations. We don’t like to book in advance because we never know when we’ll leave and arrive at a city so we make our choices quite quickly the evening of. We also have peculiarities with diet and the concierge made over 4 recommendations for us that were perfect! We went with 2 of the choices over our stay and were so happy. Thank you!

An exceptional hotel even measured against world-class luxury hotels. Gracious, personal service, spotless and comfortable facilities, excellent cuisine, and a concierge desk that provides excellent services. We could not have enjoyed our stay more.

We stayed 2 nights in September 2023. It was unusually warm for the season, so the staff brought fans for our room. The view on the balcony was amazing. The room was well designed and the bathroom was awesome. We had a nice breakfast before our excursions.
