Very nice place. Very homely people and the staff is really good and very cooperative for foreigners, especially I would like to recommend the service by David David bar supervisor- the bar supervisor and Teddy, okay. Miki is very good person in serving the best cocktails in the world. I enjoyed, and I had a great time as they made me feel at home.
In Addis Ababa, this is a nive one. I booked it on Ctrip, checked in so fast in reception. The service is warmed, and most waiters can speak English, so we can communicate well. But the room service - food....it could be improved a lot..
I stayed in Hotel Lobelia for a total of 5 nights during 3 separate times in July. The hotel is conveniently located, just a 10min drive from Bole international airport, & a free hotel airport shuttle is provided. This was perfect for me as I had to fly in & out of Addis Ababa a couple of times as I traveled around Ethiopia. Besides being close to the airport, the hotel is also very close to many other establishments, such as restaurants, cafes, shops, mall, etc. There is also an ATM just outside the hotel lobby so this was extra convenient. The 3 different rooms I stayed in during my 3 separate stays were all spacious, satisfactory, & clean. The bed was quite comfortable, & the wifi worked well in the room. There was also a separate seating area. A menu for the restaurant, as well as all the services offered by the hotel are also conveniently provided on the desk in the room. The bathrooms are quite small, however, and can use some upgrades, but overall it was fine, and the hot water shower was great. On one of my stays, I did end up getting upgraded to one of the suites, which was a very big room with a very big bathroom. They serve a buffet breakfast which typically included traditional Ethiopian dishes, and sometimes eggs & pancakes, in addition to toast, fruits, juices, coffee, & tea. Besides breakfast, food is available all day at their restaurant, as well as room service. The food at the restaurant is quite good so I did eat here a couple of times. Laundry service was also good – I dropped it off just before 8:30am & got it back just after lunch. They also have luggage storage, which I used to store my big backpack, while I traveled to other parts of Ethiopia with just a small backpack. The overall service is really good here; plus, all the staff, from the reception to the restaurant to the shuttle service, are really nice, friendly, & accommodating. There was always someone to answer any questions and provide any assistance needed, which I really appreciated. This hotel is definitely good value for a short stay in Addis Ababa with easy access to the airport.
Best welcome gesture I have ever received!! Lovely and helpful staff. Amazing breakfast. I had a communication situation with a Rides driver and didn’t have much time. A doorman, named Yohannes Banata came through for me. I’m grateful. He was so professional!! Unforgettable.
Outstanding property with a good view of the city. The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our stay like “kalkidan” at front desk. The rooms were very comfortable and super clean with affordable price. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning with the help of another staff “kalkidan” from restaurant also my wife and the staff surprised me with Father’s Day cake Tnxs. My wife and my little angel was very happy with the service and hospitality all the staff from the supervisors to the parking attendants thank you so Mach we hope we’ll see you again with same standard and quality.
The customer service was very poor. There was black mold growing above my shower. Overall this hotel presents a nice front but when you get beyond the facade of nicety you find a slum lord mentality. It is true that when you make a customer happy they probably won't say anything but when you treat them poorly they will tell the world... Well that is true here. I had a legitimate complaint and was told there was no managers on duty that could address it. Out of trying to solve my issue the front desk apparently called the ”owners son” who was to be consulted in case of no managers being available. He offered to give me ”free services” next time I came to the hotel knowing full well I was about to fly out and would not be back. I had asked for at least a partial refund or some kind of compensation which he refused.
