I recently concluded my stay at Hotel Bara Budapest, and regrettably, my experience left much to be desired. Here's an in-depth look at the issues I encountered: 1. **Misleading Room Presentation:** The room I booked didn't align with the enticing photos showcased online, resulting in an unsatisfactory space for three occupants. 2. **Cramped Quarters:** The room's size was disproportionately small, making the bed feel cramped and diminishing the overall comfort of the stay. 3. **Unpleasant Pillows:** The provided pillows were not only uncomfortable but also displayed signs of wear and tear, contributing to a less-than-ideal rest. 4. **Inconvenient Fees Disclosures:** Upon arriving, I noticed a disheartening policy posted at the front desk. Extra fees for room changes, use of the air conditioner, and even replacing a lost access key were prominently listed. This disclosure seemed excessive and raised concerns about the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction. 5. **Inconvenient Location:** My assigned room on the 5th floor was notably cramped due to architectural constraints, and the lack of an elevator to this floor contradicted the expectations set by the promotional materials. The actual room size deviated significantly from the depiction of the standard triple room. 6. **Service Discrepancies:** Given the hotel's 3-star rating, I expected a certain level of service. However, my requests, such as changing the pillow, were met with limited staff availability. The overall room upkeep did not align with the standards anticipated from a 3-star establishment.

Hotel muy básico y bastante antiguo. El desayuno muy pobre y el recepcionista que nos atendió bastante antipático. Pero por calidad precio bastante bien.

Leggendo le recensioni, nel complesso mi aspettavo peggio. La camera era un po' datata ma pulita, il bagno idem. Lenzuola e asciugamani puliti. Per contro, i cuscini proposti sono veramente scomodi, il frigo bar non é funzionante e la colazione molto scarsa e senza proposta dolce: sono andata avanti tre giorni a pane burro e marmellata. Il personale abbastanza gentile e posizione ottimale per raggiungere il centro con i mezzi.

Ho dato 1 stella perché non si potevano dare 0 stelle… esperienza pessima, camere sporche, cena pessima, per non parlare del personale… dei veri cafoni, se vi devo dare un consiglio… meglio dormire sotto un ponte che dormire in questo hotel.

I am coming from Canada. I'm extremely frustrated with the hotel and feel compelled to share my experience. The hotel consists of three buildings, none of which are any better than the others. The entrance is dark and the connections between the buildings feel like a maze of catacombs. It's a complete nightmare trying to find your room. Now let's talk about the rooms. They are downright filthy, and don't even think about finding any electrical appliances. Each room supposedly has a minimum of three single beds, but forget about any comfort because there are no pillow tops provided. Can you believe it? To make matters worse, we were completely tricked by that Turkish Holiday Website, "tatilbudur.com." They led us to this horrendous place that is worse than any hostel I've ever stayed in. I'm beyond disappointed with this hotel. The lack of cleanliness, basic amenities, and the overall experience is simply unacceptable. They need to seriously step up their game and make significant improvements.

It was and in and out stay, arrive late leave early. It’s undoubtedly tired, dated but it’s as cheap as a hostel but you’ve got an en-suite which is non negotiable. I have to speak as I find, the bedding and towels were immaculate crisp and clean as was the room. You get what you pay for and this was next to free! It did what it said on the tin, wouldn’t stay longer than an overnight; but it did what I needed from it. I’ve stayed in four star hotels for €240/ night and had stained bedding, I’m interested in cleanliness first and foremost. If you are a cheap skate with high expectations it will not fulfill!

Hotel entrance looked close and was dimly lit. No restaurant or refreshment facilities. Very unwelcoming. The room was grim with barred windows. The corridors were in darkness and I had to find the light switch with my phone. No evidence of other guests and felt eerie to stay in. Room was dirty with leaking tap in the bathroom. Mold on walls round the windows. No safe and was asked to hand in key when not in room. Did not feel safe or secure, was offered a second room when complained about the leak in the bathroom. This room was just the same. Checked out within 30 minutes. Avoid at all costs.
