Booked single room for friends wedding at a pricier hotel 5 mins walk away(x2 price). Nice central area to Clifton, however that comes at a cost of parking at £9 a night. Room was a small single, with no space for any unexpected guest, but was clean and tidy. The bed mattress was a little on the uneven side. Decided to have breakfast elsewhere, as I'm always dissappointed with hotels choices of sausages, so can't comment on food. Staff were friendly. Place had more of a seaside B&B vibe than city hotel, but overall was as expected.

A very nice welcome on arrival, the room was nice and fresh. A very nice location and well worth a walk around the area, lots of bars and restaurants, worth checking out the independent shops too. The white lion bar/hotel is worth a visit to see the views across Bristol gorge. If you have a car use the hotels parking at £9 because I’m sure it’s permit parking 9am till 9pm in the area I think it’s free on Sundays but please check information on parking posts. We decided to have breakfast at hotel £14.50 and I think it’s great value for money, I’m Coeliac and they catered for me with no issue. Also a small bar at hotel if you wanted a quiet drink while you stay. We would definitely stay again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful! The room was spacious and comfortable, and overall clean but a bit dusty. There isn't a lift, but the staff were happy to place me in a more accessible room and helped me with my luggage. The walls are a bit thin so this might be a problem if youre a light sleeper, but the area is very quiet, especially at night. I am overall very happy with my stay!

A very substantial breakfast in a light and airy dining room. Easy walking to the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the lovely park above it. Bus service to the center of town is just across the street. And if you have the Freedom Pass, the buses are free, though sometimes the drivers don't know that! The on site parking is not free (£9 per day) stung a bit, as many other places (perhaps not in Bristol) offer free parking to paying guests. Lovely staff. As it is a property with character, that means many, many steps. Elegant steps, but lots of them.

A dog friendly hotel with a bus stop outside.Warm welcome. Assigned a lower ground floor room, adequate facilities. Room was quite warm though, and needed window open to sleep thereby increasing noise. Lovely breakfast, with good choice. Extra charges for dog and car parking a dissapointment.

The hotel is in a nice location in a quiet square in the middle of Clifton Village. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed When I checked in the staff member on reception was quite pushy about getting a credit card number from me, to cover damages, even though I had paid for the room in advance and was only staying one night. I was told the room was on the first floor so I asked if there was a lift. I was told there was no lift available; the staff member made no offer to help me with my luggage. After looking all around the first floor I found my room was actually on the second floor.

My wife & I as well other patrons in the bar felt the hotel annex was extremely dated and old fashioned, the room was lacking furniture and accessories & it certainly wasn’t worth the £174 per night!! Plus the bed had no bottom sheet - just the mattress cover! Extremely poor! Have written an email of complaint to the manager so will be interesting to see what response we get.

The room was very nice, perhaps some things a bit old but pretty anyway. Beds comfy, bathroom very nice, spotlessly clean. Staff we met were lovely. The one huge negative was the noise - particularly banging doors. We were in room 214 opposite a room used by staff. Woken both days at 6.10am by that door, then lots of door banging from below our room where the entrance door was. In the evening woken by doors banging as guests came up to rooms. All this could be remedied by fitting slow closure hinges on all the doors adjusted to prevent doors closing with force. This is a good hotel in every other way.

Had two rooms for a Graduation stay. Requested 1 room for 3 people and 1 room for two people and a dog. On arrival there had been a mix up, we hadn't been allocated a 'dog' room, and the only one still available was for 3 people and the dog. This didn't seem too bad except, dog rooms are on the top floor. The dog belongs to my elderly parents, the stairs were a challenge for them. It seems strange to put dogs as far away as possible from the exit doors when they need to go out for a toilet break.
