Lovely hotel and grounds and staff were very friendly. Lovely food .

We have been here many times before and always had a great time. It has been a few years since we have here. So, we decided to book here Easter Sunday and Monday. We took our parents this time also as we thought they would enjoy it. We had a long journey and Check in was 3pm . We arrived at 3.15 and we were told it wasn’t ready and to call back at 3.30. We did and my parent’s room was ready but our family room wasn’t we were told they would ring us. So, we went to my parents and waited for a phone call, it never came. Eventually we give up and called down to reception at last at 4.15 we got the keys to our room. When we got in we were so disappointed, we had stayed in family rooms numerous times over the years and what we were given was an adjoining, with someone staying on the other side room definitely not what’s advertised. It was so dated and dirty to be honest. It had stains on the floors, chairs, lampshades and sheets., one of the beds was actually set up against the door which was ridiculous as you can see from the pictures. There was so little room and for the price we paid really disappointing. That night the people on the other side of the adjoining room, had a child who we could hear it cry and every word they said. This went on for hours and my child at the door was afraid to go to sleep. The next day we asked for a new room as this wasn’t acceptable. We were moved to a new room. Again, really dated with wardrobes with curtains and dirty stains all over the carpets and lamps. Even simple things like hanging the curtains was shoddy. We were now looking out onto the bin area as a view. The breakfast was manic, there was no water, no glasses, no sauces and the staff were run off their feet. The staff really were trying there best there just wasn’t enough. At this stage it wasn’t worth complaining again. This hotels rooms need updating and proper cleaning of carpets etc. for the price we paid it wasn’t acceptable to be given that room. My parents couldn’t believe the rooms we were put in. As previously stated, I’ve been here numerous times in the past but things would need to change in the room depar**ent for me to return again. I feel we were cheated and put in this room as an advertised family room to maximise profit from two adjoining rooms. The basically squashed extra beds in because they new it was Easter and they could make more money.

Great place for a night away. We arrived on Friday evening. We had a lovely room. The bed was huge and very comfortable. I loved the leisure centre. We had dinner in the bar( fish n chips) really good. Service was great. Good a**osphere here too. Breakfast was one of the best we've had. The garden is a great plus for the hotel. One comment, the room was too hot at night. We will be back.

Terrible. Not a warm welcome at check in. Don't know how this hotel is a 4 star. Inexperienced staff in all areas. Male and female member of staff continued a conversation at the computer, discussing holiday entitlement while we waited to be assisted with a query. Lack of general information on places of interest and things to do, although we had our plans made. Room was tiny and very dusty, dirty grout around sink, ripped curtains, one chair , shower went from warm to scalding hot then cold then warm again. Duvet cover was inside out. Extractor fan didn't work. Sink hot tap temp dangerously hot for hand washing. No WiFi in room and signal on TV kept going off. Food ok in lounge but nicer in woodlands restaurant. Lady supervisor in woodlands restaurant was the only professional staff member we encountered . We had booked for 2 evening meals in woodlands as part of our package but upon arrival, was told woodlands restaurant not open Tuesday eve so eat in the lounge where the food was just ok. Never got the second drink I ordered. Outside seating areas was lovely with the amazing views but area was not swept once and there were loads of cigarettes butts on the ground. Upon check out we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay , receptionist didn't even make eye contact. She handed us a bill with an additional charge of €60 for a meal that was already part of our package. No apology for error, just deducted the amount and reprinted receipt. Bed was comfortable and amazing scenery however we would not recommend this hotel.

I booked 2 rooms for my mums 60th birthday and we had the most lovely relaxing stay. The Leisure centre is beautiful. The front desk staff were so friendly. We really enjoyed the breakfast with the stunning view. The selection was fantastic. We had dinner on the evening of the 11th in the hotel restaurant and it was perfect. The stay was very special so a big thanks to all. We will be back.

So.... The hotel itself is very nice. Comfortable, staff are nice, price is amazing... But...the food in the hotel restaurant is poor... 1 out of 5 poor. The lamb shank overcooked and dry(which is hard to do) the beef bourguignon was more like a stew, very disappointing. Come here and stay, it's amazing but organise elsewhere for your food!

This place is wonderful. The staff in particular are extremely friendly and helpful. I loved the whole a**osphere of relaxation and comfort it excludes. It is spotless. The beds was large and comfortable and the food was excellent. As I say the staff were excellent but there were two in particular who went above and beyond to assist us. Amika and Cristina you were wonderful and deserve some recognition. I would certainty stay here again.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay at the Glenview Hotel. Our room was gorgeous overlooking the glen. The hotel is lovely and very in keeping with its beautiful surroundings. The hotel is in a wonderful location for exploring Wicklow. We drove directly from Dublin to drop our luggage then went out for the day to explore Powerscourt, Glencree and do a walk in Ballinastoe Woods. Next day we drove the 20 mins to Glendalough and back for dinner. Wonderful. The food in the dining room is lovely. The breakfast is good and you could ask for your eggs to be cooked to your liking if you didn't want the fried eggs on the buffet. Staff were lovely.

The best thing about the Glenview is the spectacular views. Otherwise not great. Bad service, bordering on rude from one waitress in the bar, and very mediocre food. Also ended up having our drinks before dinner in our bedroom because the lounge and library had been hired out to a private party and there was nowhere else to sit in peace, just the aforesaid noisy bar with poorly trained staff. Won't be back.
