比德爾飯店及會議中心(Biddle Hotel and Conference Center)

Hotel was beautiful inside and out. Plenty of places to sit and relax or to explore both inside and outside. Rooms were comfortable and relaxing. Hotel was quiet even though there were plenty of people around. Parking was easy even with area construction. The kids really enjoyed the bowling alley and pool hall and there was a free concert outside during our stay. Only disappoin**ent was during 3 days there most the restaurants weren't open so had to leave hotel for dining even though had expected in house dining options.

Windows are filthy, and there was no one to greet us at check-in. After a few minutes, the front desk employee appeared and reeked of pot. To boot, there was a loud sound outside of our room every 15 seconds. Not sure if it was an ice maker, but it made it difficult to sleep.

The property had a nice, homey look and feel to it. Perhaps because it wasn't a full service hotel, I shouldn't expect too much. For the rate/price, it was more than enough. Maybe if it was staffed more, it would have been Excellent throughout. But the location was ideal. Everything was within walking distance and it was convenient that shops and eateries were located inside the Biddle.

Reggie checked us out and was unbelievably rude. So rude that all 4 in my party actually commented on his words and behavior. He should be ashamed. We are IU Alumni who chose to stay for the memories and unfortunately for us, Reggie's rudeness was the last memory for us this weekend.

It’s great to be back at IU Bloomington and the Union. Staff are friendly and very helpful. It’s an old, beautiful building. Rooms are small with a wardrobe instead of a closet. Windows do not open by design. BUT be sure to walk through the building and sit a while in the lounges. Visit tiny Dunn Cemetery and the commemorative serviceberry trees. Look for scenes from “Breaking Away.”
