貝寧根山谷小屋(The Lodge Bellingen)

Such a wonderful experience at the Lodge- comfy bed, lovely shower, quality linen. The pool area was relaxed and smart and a free Gin and tonic is the ideal enticement to have you having a couple before dinner. It is motel style so it can be a bit noisier when people are sitting outside their room talking or packing their car, but it is super comfortable. Shout out to Nicola who we loved meeting and who cared for us well.

We had the best time. We stayed in the glamping tent and exceeded our expectations! We will definitely be back and or with our puppies. Beautiful view, great service. Comfy bed and a beautiful big bathroom. We loved being able to wander around the property and the restaurant was to die for!

Really nice hotel in a beautiful surrounding. The lodge has a bit of an English vibe. We stayed in the room with 3 adults. Rooms are spacious and nice to have a balcony. Down side it that your balcony is not private. Good value for money. Nice indoor swimmingpool with plenty of room to relax. The gym could use a bit of and upgrade.

We stayed in a glamping tent - which was brilliant, nicer than a lot of hotel rooms you could get. Gorgeous views! Some lovely small touches like nice brands of tea and coffee in the room, and some wines / beers in the mini bar (paid for). If we’d realised beforehand we would have picked up some coals or wood for the fire pit as there didn’t seem to be any provided. We ate at the blue ducks restaurant which was really nice asian inspired food. It was a shame the pizzaria place wasn’t open when we were there, but we did know it wouldn’t be as it was in the middle of the holidays. I’d definitely stay again, but would plan ahead to bring own coal / wood for the fire and bbq food.

Room was extremely meagre for $350 per night. It was more like an updated sixties motel room at a nightly price we would pay for five stars in Sydney. There was no sink despite the ‘suite’ being advertised as having a kitchenette and only a pathetic little bar fridge for the food and drinks we had brought with us. Despite the price tag, the room did not have a dining table for sitting at. Our door lock didn’t work, the screen door could only locked from inside. The plug in the bathroom sink did not work. In addition, the Lodge did not meet disability access standards. My husband is in a wheelchair but there was no access to our room that did not include steps, ledges or wheeling across gravel. Parking was advertised as being only ‘metres from your door’ but the reality was it was more like 80 meters away and gravel, not paved. There is no access from the restaurant to the wheelchair toilets.

I recently spent one night at The Lodge, Bellingen while on a work trip. The Lodge is about two kilometres west of the town; it is not really possible to walk to and from the town as the road is 100km/h and the road shoulders very narrow. The rooms are very well appointed and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom amenities were high quality. Rooms have a Nespresso coffee maker. However, there was only one (lounge) chair in the room and no table so if you were there as a couple and having a coffee one person needs to site on the bed (noting that there are a table and chairs outside the room on the verandah, but this is a public thoroughfare to other rooms). When we stayed the restaurant was not open for breakfast so we had to drive into town for a cafe breakfast. The Lodge has some challenges if you need to work as no desk/bench was provided and as noted above only a single lounge chair was provided in the room. When I needed to do some work I ended up sitting on the bed! Check in was easy and for check out we were asked to leave our keys in the box provided outside reception. I think the Lodge would be great for a relaxing retreat; while I did not get an opportunity to use it the pool looked very inviting. TC

This place is absolutely beautiful. The location is breathtaking, the team that work there are kind, friendly and hospitable. The room my friend and I shared was spacious, very clean and had great facilities. I most definitely recommend this as a place to stay. Peaceful, quiet and a place to feel well rested. One night was not enough, and if I’m lucky enough to go past this neck of the woods again, I hope to stay there a bit longer.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, from the welcoming staff, the immaculate modern suites with stunning views, to enjoying a leisurely morning feeding the resident Alpacas. Also adored good vibe Bellingen with its music, arts and food scene and very friendly warm eclectic locals. The post dinner drinks and live music by Gusto Gusto at the Federal hotel in town was fantastic! Thank you - we will be back !

Staff, accommodation & venue were perfect for my women’s retreat. Pizza oven and drinks around the pool topped off a fabulous weekend at The Lodge . Accommodation had been beautifully renovated. Looking forward to returning again in the very near future.
