班達拉瓦拉飯店(Bandarawela Hotel)

Leuk hotel in koloniale stijl dat ook nog dateert uit de 19de eeuw .De slaapkamer en badkamer dateren ook uit deze periode....wel eens leuk om te verblijven. Eten was super lekker en gevarieerd. Bediening ook zeer goed en zoals het betaamt was de WiFi niet zo optimaal .Echter dat hoort bij de grandeur van een ouderwets hotel

Hotel is niet meer van deze tijd. Het stamt uit 1893 heb ik gehoord, maar het mag wel gerenoveerd worden. De kamers lijken net een kamer uit een poppenhuis. Heb zelf ook weinig geslapen deze nacht. Ook zaten wij met de achterkant van de kamer aan een weg. En het was erg gehorig dus als er een auto of bus langs reed en vaak toeteren deze. Dan was je elke keer weer wakker. De wifi hadden we alleen in het restaurant. En het eten was niet veel keus in. Ik zou hier nooit weer komen.

Uitstekend hotel in koloniale stijl met oude, maar nette kamer. Sfeer is hier belangrijk, als je gaat voor platte luxe moet je elders zijn. Staff is heel vriendelijk, maaltijden uitstekend. Aanrader ivm veel andere zgn comfortabele hotels in sri lanka

Hôtel au charme colonial avec de beaux espaces intérieurs et situé en centre-ville. Par contre les chambres restées authentiques, manquent d’un confort quelque peu moderne. La salle de bain est pourvue d’une baignoire à l’ancienne et d’une douche archaïque. La propreté laisse à désirer.

Maybe my expectations were too high. I was expecting a charming old hotel from a by gone era, and whilst ilt's definitely from a by gone era, it's lost a lot of its charm. In fact I think it's about time to be put out to pasture. I found the rooms old a musty smelling and the bathroom smelt of old drains. No complaints about the food as both the breakfast and dinner buffets were very good. Service was ok, nothing stood out, but no complaints either. The location is convenient, but that's about it.

Super hotel! Heerlijk rustig in de bergen en dichtbij het kleine centrum. Hotel heeft helaas geen zwembad, maar dat heb je in principe ook niet nodig. De WIFI verbinding js vrij zwak en heb je alleen kn het restaurant en de lobby. Wij kregen een 3-gangen diner, het was heerlijk! Ook het ontbijt werd door ontzettend vriendelijke mensen geserveerd bij ons. Lekker om eens geen buffet te hebben. De kamers zijn harstikkelijk leuk ingericht en naar de stijl van het hotel. Fijn hotel, echt een aanrader als je net de treinrit hebt gehad vanaf Kandy of voor 1 nacht voor door te reizen.

I want to express my deepest GRATITUDE for the wonderful service and care given during our stay by the staff of Bandarawella Hotel! During our pleasant stay we experienced a medical emergency and the staff of Bandarawella Hotel went ABOVE AND BEYOND their responsibilities to make sure we were well looked after. They acted IMMEDIATELY and saw to all our needs, even during the hospital stay. Be it bedding, food, transport...it was all provided without us even asking for it! Whole hearted appreciation to the General Manager, front office, restaurant and kitchen staff, room service and security. OUSTANDING service by the whole hotel. I'm in awe! With regards to the hotel in general, this colonial quaint architecture makes you feel like you were teleported back in time. It was the perfect location to wind down, relax whilst enjoying delicious, hearty meals and the cool breezy weather! This hotel will definelty be on my travel list again!!

The hotel was OK, it is a colonial style building with old style bedrooms and bathrooms. However, there is a large Mosque over the road, so you will be woken up at dawn every day by the wailing from the Mosque speakers.

Little value for money - we were here for lunch and the meal was overpriced, average food quality with dirty table-cloth. There was no soap on the toilet and there were little annoying mosquitos everywhere. I would recommend different places in this area.
