Hotel Villa Geyersworth

What a wonder - a truly 4 star hotel. Front desk/ concierge was fabulous. Thank you. especially to Sandy! Room very polished and comfortably furnished. The Viia Restaurant was gourmet and the service was first class, start to finish. The breakfast buffet also lived up to the hotel rating. Lots of choice, cold and hot. Great location near the Tourist Office, and walkable to the old streets, and cathedral. On the canal -- very picturesque.

Hotel classico in stile francese: bella camera elegante (Superior); ambiente colazione molto raffinato come tutto il personale ed eccellente colazione. Ristorante (brasserie) sicuramente raffinato, ma con carta menù decisamente particolare: non ne abbiamo usufruito. Posizione ottima: a 10 minuti a piedi dal centro. Garage perfetto (possibile prenotarlo in anticipo). Unica pecca, la camera che ci è stata assegnata era nell'ala senza ascensore.

The hotel is located in a quiet street next to the 'Altstadt'. The hotel has its' own garage and overall, it's a decent property. The service is unfortunately not at par and during our stay we had several issues. First of all, the safe in our room malfunctioned and we were forced to change rooms, which was an inconvenience as we had just unpacked our suitcases. No apologies were given by the hotel team. Instead, I was told 'well, we offered you another room and these things happen'. no, they should not happen - if Housekeeping would have checked the safe as they should do when releasing a room, the malfunctioning safe would have been noticed. The room we were offered was not of the same standard as the TV set was the size of an iPad. Again, no apologies were made. The reception was not always manned and at one time I found the receptionist sitting in the garden having a smoke! Breakfast was very disappointing, poor quality of breakfast items and beverages. So, overall I would not return to this property but instead would try another hotel.

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Hotel Villa Geyersworth. Our deluxe room was nicely appointed with everything we normally look for while traveling. It's the little things that count to us and they had them all. Parking was onsite and very convenient. The breakfast selections were very nice. Had a quick snack at their restaurant when we first arrived and the service and food were wonderful.

Was traveling with a tour and the tour had booked standard room without air conditioning. Was very unhappy, but the staff tried their best to accomodate with a nice fan. Otherwise the room was very nice. Also be aware that some rooms do not have elevator service. Breakfasts were very good, with a wide selection of items, some unusual. Good location on the island that is the center of Bamberg.

Wir kamen zu früh, die Rezeption kümmerte sich sofort um eine schnelle Fertigstellung der Zimmer, man bekommt Hilfe beim Gepäck- sehr erfreulich, da zu manchen Suiten kein Aufzug hinaufführt. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist solide und wird immer ergänzt, das Personal ausgesprochen freundlich. Die Badezimmer-Armaturen lassen sich noch ohne Ingenieur-Studium bedienen, was leider immer seltener wird. Die Bamberger Altstadt und alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig gut erreichbar.

Selten solch einen unpersönlichen und unfreundlichen Service erlebt. Überheblich und unflexibel, man geht nicht auf die Wünsche der Gäste ein. Man hat es hier wohl nicht nötig, kann man keineswegs weiterempfehlen. Nüchterne kalte A**osphäre, kein Wohlfühl - Hotel.

Wir haben uns für dieses Hotel entschieden, weil es direkt an der Altstadt liegt. Die Preise für die Tiefgarage beträgt € 18,00 pro Tag, wobei man beim SUV nicht den Kofferraum komplett öffnen kann, weil man sonst an die Decke kommt. Unser Zimmer war extrem staubig, wir haben dann ein Teil der Gardine an die Reception gebracht, dort teilte man uns mit, dass die Vorhänge einmal im Jahr gereinigt werden. Unser Zimmer war leider noch nicht an der Reihe. Gardinen und Lampenschirme hatten Flecken und wurden auch nicht getauscht. Dies ist ein 4 Sterne plus Haus und man kann zum Frühstück kein Omelette bestellen, max. Spiegeleier, dass ist einfach schlecht. Der Still des Hauses würden wir als 80er Jahre bezeichnen und hat uns überhaupt nicht gefallen. Frühstück ausreichend. Restaurant haben wir Aufgrund der Zimmersauberkeit nicht ausprobiert. Reklamationsbearbeitung einfach mangelhaft, Wir würden dieses Hotel nicht wieder buchen. Zimmer Nr 120.

Ein hübsches Hotel in bester Lage. Preis-Leistung aber leider nicht erfüllt. Da eher hochpreisig und vier Sterne, waren die Erwartungen entsprechend. Wir waren zu viert dort (1 EZ, 1DZ in Einzelnutzung und 1 DZ). Die Zimmer sind ansprechend eingerichtet die Bäder schön und sauber. Die Betten bequem. Im EZ (32) war beim einchecken der Mülleimer im Badezimmer nicht geleert. Im DZ (30) wurde wohl der Teppich frisch gereinigt, es hat sehr stark nach Putzmittel gerochen, leider auch nach drei Tagen noch, trotz mehrmaligem lüften. In Zimmer 30 war außerdem ein großer Fleck auf dem Stuhlpolster und im Zimmer 33 hing der Vorhang aus dem Lauf. Sowas darf in einem 4 Sterne Hotel nicht passieren. Das Personal war von Freitag bis Sonntag freundlich, am Montag sehr zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war leider absoluter Standard. So ein Frühstück findet man in jedem Hotel, auch im low Budget Hotel. Übersichtliche Wurst und Käseauswahl, ein Fisch (Lachs), Aufbackbrötchen, Rührei aus der Tüte, Speck, Bohnen und Würstchen usw. Die gekochten Eier müssen gelobt werden, die waren perfekt auf den Punkt. Trotzdem für 19 Euro deutlich überteuert. Es wurden Freitag bis Sonntag auch keine Extrawünsche erfüllt. Nur Montags wurde uns angeboten Spiegeleier oder ähnliches frisch zuzubereiten. Überhaupt hatte nur der Service am Montag (Herr Turkei (?)) 4 Sterne Niveau, der Herr war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Sauna auf die wir uns alle gefreut hatten war sehr klein und auch nur für 4 Personen ausgelegt (4 Ruheliegen). Man musste außerdem 30 Minuten vorher Bescheid geben, damit die Sauna angeschalten wurde. Pro Person wurden 4 Euro Nutzungsgebühr verlangt. Warmwasser war im UG kaum vorhanden. Die Fotos versprechen m.E. anderes. Der Preis der Tiefgarage (18 Euro/d) ist auch hoch, passt aber zur benachbarten öffentlichen Tiefgarage, es gibt in der Stadt aber deutlich günstigere Alternativen.
