禮拜堂飯店(Chapel House)

After reading the reviews and the online information, we booked this place as it was central for our mini break. The positive - the menu was well thought out and offered a selection for all tastes. We could not fault the standard of cooking or the presentation. Breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day and the evening meals were outstanding. Impressed that the chef offered to prepare a different vegetarian option for myself on the second night. However although the dining room and our bedroom were spotless we were aware of a very musty smell in the entrance and the stair carpet needed a good hoover. The owners seemed initially uninterested in our stay and we did feel that we were an inconvenience to the lady owner. Perhaps this was her usual manner? This did improve slightly over the time we stayed. The place lacked a**osphere, possibly due to the fact we seemed to be the only guests after the first night. Would I recommend? Yes to the restaurant only.

Siobhan and Richard are wonderful hosts. Hotel is clean and the breakfast was fantastic. We will certainly be going back. Next time we visit we will book an evening meal. Good value for money. Beds super comfy

We really enjoyed staying here - the rooms are comfortable (but not contemporary) and the breakfast was really tasty. Very welcoming overall and we would stay here again when visiting the Midlands.

We needed accommodation and we chose this beauty. The outside is unassuming as I suppose most older buildings. The room was very clean and tidy also the decor was great,some quirky stuff like a small bust in the bathroom and an unusual desk. The artwork hanging on the walls is keeping with the general feel of the place. The restaurant looked as good as the food was with silver everywhere. The gardens were also a treat.
