My wife and I stayed for one night including dinner. The room was small but comfortable and well equipped. The bathroom was modern and spacious.. The lounge was gracious. The set dinner was lavish - amuse-bouches, 3 courses and petit-fours - and the cooking was excellent. The menu was ox cheek, venison and a ginger cake all with accompaniments. We enjoyed glasses of good Argentinian Malbec. The service was very professional. Breakfast was also well cooked and efficiently served.

So check in time is 3pm and we arrived 2 hours early..got to front desk only to see that it would not be manned until 3pm due to staff shortages..no problem, it just meant I had to leave our bag in the car (totally my fault for arriving early).. Went for a walk and a few drinks round Keswick and returned to the hotel just after 3pm. We got checked in (room 4) which my wife recognised straight away as being the room we stayed in 13 years ago for her 40th..apparently the same decor.. Off we went for a few more drinks and returned to the hotel for a meal at 1930ish only to be told by the same fella that checked us in about 4 hours earlier that they would only serve residents..once we established that we were in fact residents I asked him what time the bar closes? His reply..”as soon as possible”.. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was because it advertised it's own beer garden so on a lovely June evening, sun still beating down when you might want a couple of drinks, in the 'beer garden' - the front door is locked at 2030 and lights out. After last night's trauma of not even being able to get a drink we went down for breakfast..honestly we are far from picky eaters but it was mostly undercooked.. Sorry for sounding negative so on the plus side...the bed was very comfortable and the hotel is actually in a fantastic location for exploring Keswick. So put it on that or not. Is this

多麼棒的酒店。額外支付了Premier Double,沒有讓人失望。一個可愛的飄窗休息區,俯山丘和湖。如此寧靜和美麗的背景。酒店豪華,早餐美味,選擇很多。工作人員非常友好。走了酒店建議的散步之一,寫在紙上,你可以隨身攜帶。哇...令人驚歎。甚至在我們的路上看到一隻鹿。我們的臥室很漂亮,有一張非常舒適的牀和一個超級粉絲,非常感謝,因爲我們在住宿期間度過了最驚人的炎熱天氣。強烈推薦,一定會回來的。

我和家人,3個年輕人和我自己一起旅行。我們喜歡住在這家酒店。位置在通往凱斯威克鎮中心的道路上。窗戶的景色令人驚歎。工作人員很友好,在早餐時記得我們的喜好。早餐很好吃,有很好的選擇,讓我們渴望早上下去。我花了6英鎊買了就在酒店後面的停車場,很容易到達。我還會再住在這裏。

What a fabulous hotel, so very relaxing and quiet. Easy drive, yet away from the main tourist hubs of the Lake District. We really enjoyed our two night stay there. The service and food are outstanding...especially Marilyn who took a few minutes to chat to us each morning. The room (a superior) was called Castle Cragg had a double aspect with lovely views and a small balcony. It was spacious and well equipped. We were given the option of a £5 bar credit if we did not have the room serviced - a great incentive to cut down on cleaning/changing towels/staffing. Breakfast had a great choice of hot options and dinner was outstanding - service level was just right without being fussy and rushed. There is a comprehensive fine list too, If you opted for the 3 course dinner you also enjoyed an Amuse Bouche and tea/coffee following your meal. The hotel has a lovely location with lots of walks straight from the door - we walked through to the lakeside at Manesty and also did Catbells on a circular walk. There is a boat service on the lake at Manesty that will take you into Keswick or on a circular tour around the lake, however due to high water levels it wasn't operating from the jetty's only from Keswick. Just a couple of 'things' that need work - the exterior could do with painting as it looks quite shabby, although with the Lake District weather this will be a challenge. There is also a smoking shelter/fire meeting point in the car park there are old wicker chairs and cushions that look like they came from the refurbishment, the area would look better if these were removed.
