Really poor service at breakfast, no clean tables, no juice etc. No electricity in room for laptop or phone charging. Blocked sink. Not the best I am afraid. Raised issues with overworked receptionist and breakfast server and kitchen runner (all same person!!). Maybe one more person required??

After a long day, we thought a meal out would be "just the thing" for us. Good food places are rare in our area, so we checked out the menu online, and it seemed to offer interesting choices. Oh dear. Too much oil in the oil and balsamic with focaccia. The fish and chips my OH ordered was delicious, he says. My chicken schnitzel with Ceasar salad was not as advertised. The chicken was, to be fair, well presented and tasty. The Ceasar salad was basically a pile of Little Gem lettuce leaves with a massive pool of dressing. No croutons, no anchovies, no Parmesan... on questioning the waiting staff, she went to enquire in the kitchen... and said "sorry, we don't have any (anchovies)"... I was disappointed, but hungry, so ate the chicken. Why bother to offer a meal which is not complete? Do they expect customers to not notice, or do they not care? Either way, it shows little respect for customers. Really disappointing, and not the first time we've had a poor experience here. We like to cut some slack, and give places a chance to prove themselves, but we won't be giving the Hind's Head another chance.

Absolutely the worst experience dining I've ever had. Went for a birthday meal with the family. The setting was lovely, gorgeous table and the pub is stunning. However, the service was appalling. Had to wait 1 hour 20 minutes for our main meal. Some of our party ordered starters, although we then ended up waiting for ages for the plates to be cleared. Had to chase our food 3 times. One of the staff said they would check how long our food would be, but then never returned back with an answer. Some of our party were elderly and one of them was diabetic, so waiting for food this long was not a pleasant experience. When I asked to speak to the manager, he didn't seem to genuinely care, although did apologise and said he would take money off the bill. We then ended up being charged a service charge, even though he had taken 20% off the bill. We then waited ages for the correct bill to be brought to the table. Just a terrible experience all round. The food was OK, but nothing special and not worth the ridiculously long wait. Stay away at all costs! Very unhappy

Sunday Lunch ! The Hind"s Head is an attractive building - Staff, when able to gain their attention, were pleasant and courteous - seating was comfortable - and the food, when it finally arrived, acceptable. Where this establishment fails is in its atrocious standard of service - the almost endless hanging about for food and drinks became intorrilable. We spent a total of four and a half hours waiting and consuming our lunch ! Never again !

Sorry but can’t recommend this place. Went today - only good thing was the staff were pleasant but food sub standard and 10 pounds for a glass of wine - REALLY 😩 hope the Butt Inn opens soon - knocked spots off this place for food and atmosphere. No wonder it’s always empty.

Terrible hotel, dirty and no working water in the morning on the day of my sisters wedding. I asked for a manager to call me back numerous times but to date they've ignored me. I had to book another hotel just to shower, leaving me out of pocket. Please avoid.

I've stayed at the HH before. When it works, it's great - good vfm, friendly, comfortable, good food. However, there were a few issues with the hotel last time I stayed (I was a regular for a few weeks). When I knew that I needed to stay locally again, I gave the HH the benefit of the doubt. I wish I hadn't. The problems started when my colleague complained about her room, concerned about the noise from the next door room through the partition wall. She said she could hear everything in the room next door "it was like they were in the room with me". There were no other rooms available, so I offered to swap rooms as I am not too bothered about noise. However, she was right. The wall between rooms 2 and 3 is very thin. Let's just say I spent the night listening to a noisy couple. I didn't sleep well and felt self-conscious. My disappointment was compounded when I came down to breakfast and the door to the restaurant was locked and the lights were off. When I complained about it that evening, no apology was offered and I was told that it was down to "human error". I asked for a refund for the missed breakfast and was asked "How do you want make that happen?" (no apology). I did get my dinner refunded by £11 and was put in a quieter room for my second night. I had an excellent breakfast the following morning. In conclusion, I have decided I can't stay n the HH again nor can I recommend to colleagues they do the same. It can be great but it is too risky.

The property was not clean and lacked a real attention to detail. It was a disappointing stay and didn't warrant the price charged. There was no milk in the room and house keeping hadn't cleaned the coffee machine so it had old capsules. Breakfast was no better as the staff had nothing stocked. It took much longer because it took 3 requests to get bread for the toaster! The room did benefit from a fan and this did keep it cool.

We had a lovely two night stay, we were a family and friends group staying for a nearby wedding. Staff at the Hind head were welcoming and friendly. Ben on the bar was lovely and made me a good drink, just how I liked it. The Hind Head is very clean and tastefully decorated. The Manager ensures visitors, guests are well looked after. Food is excellent, must have an exceptional chef. Overall 👍 thank you to team Hind Head.

Lovely food, we were really well looked after exceptionally well by Toni who kept checking in and making sure we had everything we need. Would recommend popping in for either a drink or a meal. Menu had a great choice including the specials board. Will be back.

We wanted to thank Frankie,Luke and all there amazing staff for making our wedding reception perfect.the food was second to none and the rooms were lovely. I would highly recommend anyone thinking of having a special event or just a meal or an overnight stay to give the hinds head a try Gary &Lisa

Comfy bed, nice room, lovely bar and restaurant, good food ,and lovely staff,especially Frankie ! .The cocktail happy hour was a nice relaxing couple of hours and the drinks weren't bad either ! Will definitely be back . All round great 'countryside' pub / hotel

How lucky is the charming village of Aldermaston to have this treasure of a pub in its midst? Nothing was too much trouble for the three delightful members of staff we interacted with and our light lunch was delicious including the best chips I've had in quite a while. I'm only sorry it's too far from home to become a regular venue for us!
