Vriendin onverwacht heel ziek geworden. Na een telefoontje toegezegd dat we konden omboeken voor 35 euro extra. Nou dat was fijn, maar later op de dag een mail: bij nader inzien kunt u toch niet omboeken, want niet binnen 24 uur. Nee daar had ik over gebeld, dit was onvoorzien. Toezegging ingetrokken, weg 119 euro. Van medemenselijkheid geen sprake. Ik zou zeggen goed management. Bah. Natuurlijk komen we hier niet meer.

Er valt wel wat op aan te merken, in de hoop, dat het management dit als verbeter-kansen mee wil nemen: -Laat de receptie niet zo lang onbemand zijn. Er was 15 minuten niemand in zicht - 26.11.-ca.21.00 uur. -kamer was koud; -deurspionnetje ontbreekt; -geen 'don't disturb'-deurhanger; -open douche, dus vloer wordt waterballet; -geen kleding-haken in badkamer; -geen zeepbakje in douche; -kraanfuncties ingewikkeld / afwijkend; -geen telefoon op de kamer kunnen ontdekken; -zeer matige verlichting in de kamer, waardoor o.a. aan het bureau 's avonds niet te werken valt; -de hele nacht lawaai van een ijsblokjes machine in de gang(?). - Voor één nachtje viel alles wel te doen, maar voor langer verblijf kan dat allemaal echt wel beter.

DS Hotel ist eine absolute Katastrophe, keinen Heizung bei 11 Grad Celsius Außentemperatur und nicht isolierten Fenstern. Wenn man sich schlecht behandelt fühlen will, dann bitte in dieses Hotel kommen. Schimmel im Bad, keine Heizung, kein Schloss an der Tür, schlechte Rezeption. Willkommen in uithoorn, nie wieder.

My wife and I have been coming to this hotel for 3 years and always look forward to staying at this friendly, cozy hotel, which is run by an accessible and very professional staff. The breakfast is second to none and the location is excellent. Highly recommended!

Sehr freundliches Personal. Zimmer ist verhältnismäßig groß und gut ausgestattet. Allerdings ist das Zimmer im Erdgeschoss sehr dunkel, das das Fenster im Schatten des Balkons liegt. Auch das Bad ist groß, wir hätten uns allerdings mehr Ablagemöglichkeiten und Haken zum Aufhängen von Handtüchern u. ä. gewünscht. Das Frühstück hat alles, was man braucht. Der Frühstücksraum ist zweckmäßig und nicht zu eng. Es gibt ausreichend kostenlose Parkplätze. Die Lage ist ideal für einen Besuch in Amsterdam. Man läuft 300 m bis zur Bahnstation und ist mit der Bahn in etwas mehr als einer halben Stunde bequem im Zentrum.

I ended up at the hotel by chance as it was close to where I needed to be. Lucky Me! Mos hotels are now 'chains' and about as much fun. the Hotel Amsterdam , is more of an old fashioned Guest House. You arrive and are greeted by people who treat you as a new friend. The rooms are simple clean, very well equipped and versatile. The room I was in has four single beds, so would be ideal for a group. There is a resteraunt , and bar. The food is freshly cooked , well presented, and quite delicious. Situated at Uithoorn ., about twenty minutes from Schiphol Airport, it is a lovely quite place, but ideal for the city. Three or four minutes away is the main bus station and trams, so access to the city is easy, there are also the usual Dutch cycle ways. Another couple of minutes walk , Uithoorn has it's own well laid out shopping centre. I can thouroughly recommend this hotel for buissness or pleasure,
