Amazing place, great guy! Well worth a visit, food is amazing clean and tidy hotel, worth a visit 100× over! Amazing beers from a Welsh and New Zealand background! Please visit to experience what we have!

So nice to see this hostelry coming to life again under new management and serving good food. Limited lunch menu but all freshly cooked and extremely reasonably priced. We especially enjoyed the home made coleslaw and recommend the vegetable and humus burger. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Aberaeron.

4 of us . Just popped in for a pint and ended up having food . Between us we had 2 x welsh burgers and chips, chicken burger and chips, veggie burger and chips , they all came with the best coleslaw in mid wales , the quality of the burgers were spot on, fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle (lovely) . There’s a new owner who was very welcoming very friendly and accommodating . Wish we weren’t driving as we’d have stayed for longer for the rugby. A nice touch as there was a free raffle prize of a Fiji rugby shirt on offer . All 4 of us have given a 5 star rating and we’d recommend to anyone wanted a pint and some food or to watch some sports to come here . We will pop back next time we are here .

The new owners have not been there long and are doing a great job as there is a lot they want to do to make improvements in the future but for now, they are working very well with what they took on. Things may not be perfect yet but you get a very warm welcome by people who care and who do their best to help you out. A great venue if you are doing the Coastal Path and with a supermarket next door, you can get your supplies for the next part of your journey. I did not have dinner there but the breakfast is amazing. Vegetarians and vegans are well catered for. Somewhere I would return to.

Came for drinks 2 days on the trot whilst staying in Aberaeron...as my husband loves Rock music and it was playing on Rock channel. Awful welcome yesterday....very unfriendly by barmaid. Thought it would be better today as we were returning customers....unfortunately not. Very very friendly to local people...not the case with visitors.It was my husbands Birthday today and not great to be greeted with such unfriendliness. We wont be returning

We were excited to spend a weekend in Aberaeron and decided to stay at the boutique Castle Hotel. When we entered the bar we were met with an unfriendly atmosphere. A rather grumpy woman asked what we wanted and we explained we had rooms booked. She walked off. We assumed we had to follow her to reception, but there is no reception, only the bar. After being asked for our details in a brusque manner, we were given our keys and told that our rooms were upstairs and that the door separating the bar from the stairwell would be locked so we would not be able to enter the bar! The rooms were clean and comfortable, but with ill-fitting draughty windows. There was no check out-process so just left our keys in our rooms. We were glad that we had not booked breakfast and were very pleased to leave. A disappointing stay that could have been easily rectified by a change in attitude and a more friendly professional approach.

We spent one night at the Castle Hotel last Friday. Althought we are regular day visitors to Aberaeron, we had not stopped overnight. We had a twin room [Catrin Star], which was roomy and comfortable. It had a lovely en-suite. Everything was very clean and the bed linen and towels were good quality. The Welsh cooked breakfast was excellent with very good products. The owners were friendly and the lady who cooked our breakfast was great company. Thankyou for our stay, much appreciated.

We booked a double ended up....in a twin room not exactly what we expected for our wedding anniversary where told that was the only room left when we checked in ....(disappointed ) Aberaeron is amazing and we have always driven through . Always wanted to stop and stay ...
