They just canceled our booking with 6 days’ notice during the school holidays. I was stunned. They said it was because of a ‘business transition’. What the actual?? Like they had no idea this was happening? Who does this? It was difficult enough to even book them in the first place. Their website was weird. I tried to ring & email about our booking well in advance, but they never replied. I guess now I know why. So I spent part of the first holiday we’ve had in a few years trying to rebook accommodation for the second half of holiday. Yay for extra stress. So my advice to you, dear reader, is to skip Hamurana Lodge and book the Ramada by Wyndham instead. Regardless of who is at fault here, appears that neither the current owner, nor the new owner can run a business properly. Emails attached below.

Similar to ChaiChai11, we had a confirmed booking back in July for a few days around New Years Eve. In August, we received an email from them saying they wanted us to cancel our booking as they had changed management and were going to do significant renovations in December. They offered us alternate accommodation but I needed to provide a credit card and get back to them. I responded via *********** and got no response. I responded via direct email and got no response. I waited several weeks, followed up and got no response. I was forced to cancel my booking and find somewhere else to stay, now in September so not so easy to find suitable alternatives for Xmas time. *********** wouldn’t help, because “I cancelled”. Like I had a choice. I would definitely not recommend dealing with this place. If they don’t even respond to an email that they initiated, what else don’t they do. Worst possible guest management I have ever experienced!! Stay Away.
