波多黎各Villa

We recently stayed at this hotel - 25th May for 7 nights as a family of 3 and my little girl is 7. Regarding sickness bug: my little girl got sick on night 5 and me on night 7. Worst sickness I've experienced, it was awful. I wasn't aware of the issue until reading these reviews so something needs to be done. The hotel and rep were great in changing bedding, cleaning aftermath of us both providing water, and organising a doctor, only because I was flying home following day. The hotel allowed us to keep the room on as there was no way I could've sat waiting in reception all day for our early evening collection. Thank you RIU you made a horrendous situation more bearable. I have had to take time off work sick and still recovering now 😔. We had friends go to Tenerife and got really poorly too so think it's doing the rounds unfortunately. Just be prepared, as you're advised to anyway when travelling abroad anywhere. On check in we were made to feel so welcome. The room was on 1st floor (128) and cannot fault the room, very spacious and beds were really comfortable ... i had the best nights sleep (until night 5). View was overlooking the Grand Amadores Thassolos Hotel so to the left of Amadores beach if looking out to sea. We had boulders in the view but it was ok as not planned to spend so much time in the room, but we did 😔. Food was really lovely and plenty choice so can't fault the food. Little deserts were amazing. The terrace outside has fabulous views and watching the sunset as you eat was just the best. Pool areas were great and kept very clean. No need to be up early to reserve a bed so that a big win. Entertainment during the day was fun, always something going on but you have to seek it so it's not in your face if you just want to relax. The water aerobics was brilliant and so much fun, I don't usually get involved but it's a must as music and atmosphere was addictive. Night entertainment was also great for the kids, and adults but I'm easily pleased and we just wanted to have a great holiday so it is what you make it. All of the staff are really friendly, accommodating and always with a smile. This is a great hotel and apart from sickness, which sadly really spoilt it for us , we had a fabulous first 4 days and met some wonderful people and my little girl made some great friends. We will definitely be back to make the most of this hotel as we lost 3 days out of the 7 and would stay longer than 7 days.

Just returned home after a fantastic week at the Marina Suites Hotel. We arrived to find the front desk staff all lovely, gave a glass of Cava whilst we went through the check in. My only gripe was a four Euro a day charge for the safe, i think this should be a basic requirement in a hotel these days. Set overlooking the Marina we were on the sixth floor, lovely large lounge space, big bedroom with ample hanging space and shelving, my wife said a chest of drawers would be the only improvement she would make. Big bathroom with shower over the bath. The kitchen area had a two ring hob, microwave, fridge and plenty of glasses, cutlery the plates if you wanted to cook in the room. The balcony had a couple of chairs and a table and a lovely view of the Marina and the sunset. The breakfast was great, a good choice for all tastes, the coffee machines could get a bit busy. Pool area great with a lovely infinity pool, boats and ferries in and out of the Marina all day. Beds were reserved in the best spots although the hotel saying they did not allow it. Always found a spot around the pool. Again the staff in the Atlantic Restaurant for breakfast and at the bar were all cheerful and attentive. This would be a hotel we would return to, we had a great week. Thanks to all at the Marina Suites.

We stayed in a Yaizasol apartment. On arrival we checked in and upon entering our room we found no towels and the pillows (if you could call them pillows) were terrible. The inside of them had all broken down. We then checked the bedding. We took the bottom sheet off and found that both mattress protectors were filthy having clumps of hair stuck to them. They clearly had not been changed for a very long time. We went down to reception and spoke to the girl and explained. Her attitude was bordering on being rude saying that she could not help as housekeeping had gone home for the day (it was 4.30 in the afternoon?) She gave us 2 towels to put us on. The following day we received 2 extra pillows, which were in the same condition as the others. The mattress protectors had been taken away and were never replaced for the period of our stay. The apartment in general was very tired. There was paint flaking off the bathroom cabinet and the cushions on the bed and in the living room were filthy. We had booked b & b. The breakfast was terrible. The coffee machine did not work properly and the cups were far too small. The organisation was poor. We would come down every morning with tables still not cleared. The staff were doing their best, but there was simply not enough of them. If you wanted a cooked breakfast you had to order it. We tried it twice and did not bother again as it was just 'warmed' up food that had been clearly stood a while. We went down to the beach everyday as the pools did not get any sun until after 12pm. The hotel was in good proximity to the beach and the town. Puerto Rico is a lovely resort with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel could be a really nice one, but clearly is in need of new management. We would not stay here again, but would definitely return to Puerto Rico. I can not believe that Jet2 holidays are still using this hotel due to the many issues that keep re-accruing on other reviews.

Location is great, we had 8th floor sunsuites. Booked superior with side sea view. Sea view was seen at one point if u stood right in the corner....not a great view really. Had a couple of issues when we arrived, bed had one leg loose and the bedside table had 3 legs...Maintenance guy came and fixed promptly so that was fine. Glad we checked and not waited till bedtime! We had issues with our door not locking and a new lock was required..but again fixed promptly, as was the TV which only had 2 channels! Bathroom very tired and they need new beds...u sleep on a mattress topper. Comfy enough bit doesn't look great. Lots of cracks and paint top ups on ceiling. Balcony massive and u get the sun from 9am till around 430pm. Kitchen equipment good...in my opinion the balcony and location is the selling point. Pool area very nice and we liked going up there. Lift goes to 6 then u go up steps to ur room or walk to back of complex and get another lift up. Air con in bedroom was good but no instructions or remote to use it. When I asked at reception how we switched it off he said use the fuse box!!! We realised there was a switch beside the light that did something..press it...eventually went off or on. Would I stay here again? Yes but would have lowered my expectation and know what I was getting. Don't get me wrong, Clean and good location but the bathroom and shower and the beds let it down. U dont spend much time in the room but you need a good bed and a good shower. Hubby spoke to reception about poor water pressure, again maintenance guy came to loom but there wasn't any improvement. Was OK for me though, hubby likes a powerful shower. I would say the other side has better views but this side has the sun in the morning and that is what we wanted for this time of year (normally come march and have stayed at other side casalanca/cala nova side). The sun shone everday so that made the balcony/pool the place to be!!
