An amazing experience and glimpse into the past lives of those who may have lived in this authentic old London home. Especially good at night in the winter months! Not cheap but well worth the price.
Hidden jewel of London - been there several times. Part-museum part art exhibit.
A Grade II-listed Georgian terraced house in the Spitalfields area of London, lovingly transformed into a piece of living theatre by its late American owner Dennis Severs. Severs' intention had been to make the house look as if it were still occupied by an 18th Century Huguenot family. There are so many theatrical touches here it's hard to tell where set design leaves off and high camp begins. Nevertheless, it's as worthwhile an attraction for visitors and Londoners alike.
This is my all time favorite place to take visitors to London. A house located in Spitalfields (East London) originally built in 1794 - is painstakenly restored - but in a way that tantalizes all of your senses. It is an multi sensory experience that truly takes you back in time. You will get a sense of the family that lived there, the food they ate and the things they did. It is almost as if they could still be there! You must book in advance. http://www.dennissevershouse.co.uk/
