For Chinese tourists, Casa Rome must have my place in Toronto. The entire 5-acre castle is the only full-scale castle in North America. The 200,000-square-foot Edwardian-style castle, built by 300 workers in nearly three years, cost as much as C$3.5 million. It was Sir Henry Palette's lifelong dream of hiring famous architect E.J. Linos in 1911. It became the most luxurious and largest private mansion in Canada at that time.
