The hotel is still in need of some updating but having said that the staff are extremely friendly and the food is great, both breakfast and dinner. We had a plumbing problem which was quickly resolved.
A lovely hotel, across from river moorings, and in a peaceful setting. The Staff were very helpful, even carrying my case up the quirky staircase. The room was clean, with good decor, and facilities. The en-suite had a bath and shower, which was a bonus. The only downside was limited plug sockets, but it was a minor issue.
The hotel itself is welcoming, with some low doorways and corridors, adding to the original features. And despite a mix of old/new decor as they continue to make improvements, it had a very relaxed atmosphere.
Breakfast was lovely, well-cooked with lots of flavour (great bacon and sausage!) We didn't use the bar, outdoor seating or garden, but the Kids Play area looked fun!
Nice to have the turning circle at the front to drop off disable guests (as couild not see any vacant disbaled spaces in the car park), and pick up/ drop off for taxis.
As check-in is at 3pm, lots of people arrived for this, so putting extra staff on at this time would reduce waiting time (there were only two on reception).
It was good the the windows were already open in the room when we arrived.
The room furniture was a little 'tired' and the door in the bathroom in room 132 does not open fully.
I liked that I was able to get iced coffee in the bar.
