金德里飯店(Hotel Kindli)

This hotel is fine - it’s not bad but it’s not good either. It’s really more of an Inn than a hotel. There is no staff physically present from 8pm - 6am so if you have an issue like we had at 10pm you are out of luck until the morning. Our corner room was clean with lots of windows and natural light. The bathroom was a good size and the large sink had a little counter space on either side. The decor of our room was old school and a bit run down. It seems like it hasn’t been updated in years - furniture with chipped paint, worn out and chipped black toilet seat, thick wall to wall carpet and a room safe from the 1980’s that was terrible. It did however have a new flat screen TV and the shower was modern and functional. The size of our room was good and we weren’t tripping over each other or on our bags. The bed was fine - again not bad but not good either. There was nothing luxurious, soft or pillowy about it. But it wasn’t dipping in the middle or making noise either. The air conditioning took a while to get cool and made some noises but ultimately did it’s job. Our biggest issue was when we came back to our room after dinner we weren’t able to open our safe with the code we had used earlier to lock it. I called the front desk twice and someone finally picked up. I told him the problem and he said someone will call me back. Two minutes later a nice gentleman called me back and kindly explained that the only way to get into my safe that night would be for him to leave his home and come back to the hotel to open it and would I mind waiting until morning. I certainly wasn’t going to ask that of someone so I said we would wait until the morning but honestly when your are in the city center of a major city like Zurich and paying $500 a night for a hotel room the level of service and quality of the room should be A-LOT better. This is the kind of place you pay $200 a night to stay in and you are fine with it but to pay $500 a night for what we got was genuinely upsetting. Really did not feel we got value for money spent here

Un superbe hôtel au coeur de la vieille ville de Zurich, très bien placé pour visiter la ville. Les chambres sont spacieuses, l’accueil est chaleureux et très sympathique, la décoration soignée et le petit déjeuner copieux ! C’est une très belle adresse !

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Kindli Hotel. The staff were helpful and professional. We chose a slightly bigger room which was lovely and had plenty of room for our luggage (we had two big bags with us). They have kept the character of the older building with modern conveniences. The bed was comfortable. The view from the window looked onto streets with lots of people. When the windows were open, you could enjoy the chatter of folks enjoying themselves and when the windows were closed, it was very quiet. There is heating and air conditioning in the room so these could be used to keep the temperature at a comfortable level. The bathroom is lovely and has toiletries available in case something has been forgotten. The breakfast was lovely. We especially enjoyed the orange juice with ginger (and would love to know the recipe for it). There was lots of choices of hot (eggs and bacon included) and cold food (including items like croissants, meats and cheeses) to have for breakfast which set us up for the day. When we needed a taxi to leave (sadly), they arranged a taxi and knew how much time was needed to get to the airport. We enjoyed staying in this part of Zurich. We hadn't stayed in this area before and it had restaurants, shops and is very close to Lindenhof Square which affords a wonderful view of Zurich. We would be happy to stay there again when we visit Zurich.

A lovely stay. The room was old fashioned, with an armoire, while the bathroom had a big tub, and individual hot and cold water faucets. The bed was quite comfortable, the room quiet and temperature controls were responsive. The front desk was informative and helpful. Fresh fruit and madeleines were readily available in the lobby, along with coffee and tea

Admirablement situé au coeur de la vieille ville de Zurich. Accueil très courtois. Chambre parfaite. Etablissement très silencieux de jour comme de nuit. Très bon petit déjeuner servi dans une salle avec une belle décoration. Permet de découvrir la vieille ville de Zurich à pied.

My friend and I stayed at Kindli Hotel for a weekend and found the hotel perfectly suited for our needs. This is a very warm and inviting "boutique" hotel where you really feel the personal service rather than some impersonal chain hotel. The service was attentive, personable, and warm. The location was perfect for exploring the city and getting to/from the train station without issue. My room was the perfect size and very well appointed. I could not hear any street noise over night and sleep very well on the comfortable bed. All of the hotel staff members were helpful and responsive to our needs. We arrived early and the rooms were not ready, no problem. We stepped downstairs to the restaurant for lunch while our rooms were being prepared. It was also easy to charge the meals directly to the rooms. The coffee service in the hall by the front desk was perfect (note there is not an in-room coffee service) and available at all hours. I would gladly stay here again on my next trip to Zurich. It was perfect!

We stayed here for one night in June 2022. We found the hotel very nice. It was a bit hard to find as it is on a back street in the historic center but worth the effort. There is no on site parking, this is probably the only downside to the hotel. We loved the attention and thoughtfulness of everyone that worked at the hotel. The rooms, while a bit small, but not that small were efficient and the bathroom was nice. The rooms were quiet and felt intimate and well appointed (nice bed sheets). The breakfast was fantastic. We will definitely stay here again!

Das Hotel liegt in fußläufiger Nähe zum Hauptbahnhof, perfekt inmitten der Altstadt und zu den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln. Wir hatten ein sauberes Superior Doppelzimmer, das ausreichend Platz bot. Das Badezimmer war modernisiert, ebenfalls sehr sauber, mir persönlich aber zu dunkel aufgrund der Fliesenfarbe. Die Betten waren gut und durch die Doppeltür zum Treppenhaus hört man von dort nichts. Allerdings haben wir die Gäste im Zimmer über uns gehört, war aber nicht zu störend. Das Frühstück wird im Restaurant angeboten, entweder vom kleinen, aber feinen Buffet oder auf Bestellung (Eier, Saft). Alles war frisch und sehr lecker. Verschiedene Tageszeitungen liegen aus. Der Service war sehr zugewandt und freundlich. Lediglich die Rezeptionistin könnte etwas freundlicher sein.

Very clean. Professional, helpful staff at front desk. Breakfast and dinner in the on-site restaurant was marvelous. A delightful boutique in the heart of Old Town Zurich. Many amenities,e.g. bottled water, fresh fruit, coffee, tea always available in the lobby.
