Stayed in the Luxury King room which was very well presented and furnished. Parking is on street but spaces can easily be found on the safe road outside the premises. There was friendly communication, by text in this case, as we visited on a Sunday evening when the Bistro was closed. Breakfast needs to be found elsewhere on the days when the Bistro is closed so worth checking before you book if that’s an issue.

Clean, warm, comfortable, stylish, welcoming. Couldn’t have asked for more. Great location 10mins away from city centre. Only £10 in an Uber. Local pub and bistro lovely too. Hosts really helpful.

Lovely, spacious room, well kept, clean and really comfortable. Good shower.

Very clean and well furnished room. We stayed in the bigger of the two rooms and found it to be very comfortable. The bathroom we modern and clean with a large shower space. Well situated in the village too. There’s a bud stop directly in front of the property and the city center is only minutes away.

We felt extraordinary, the rooms are very clean and tastefully furnished, the matresses are very good and in the rooms there are different types of tea and coffee. The small restaurant downstairs was a pleasant surprise, such a small place that can offer different and special menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Congratulations to the young people running it. Disappointing was the fact that no one was around (or was ever intended to be). I had to collect my key from a box on the wall outside. Breakfast was from a Bistro downstairs - but only on certain days, so 50% of a bed & breakfast was missing. Dangerous was the fact that access was via one stairwell to the first floor and all the windows were locked with no key available. The entrance door could only be opened with a key making escape in the event of a fire unlikely. The restaurant downstairs only increased the chance of a fire occurring. How a license was granted is puzzling!

Well presented, good value, clean and comfortable property in a lovely village with amenities, in easy reach of York. The owner was extremely welcoming and helpful.

Very smart room, good quality furnishings and fittings. Everything we needed for our one night stay. Also enjoyed eating at the Bistro at 16A -excellent food. Would stay again.

We stayed at 16b for one night and were highly delighted. Just two boutique en-suite bedrooms - decorated to a very high standard. Tea/Coffee-making facilities provided and excellent shower room. We were provided with breakfast vouchers for The Old Butcher's Coffee Shop next door and the food was excellent. The cost of a taxi into York was £14, but there is also a bus stop opposite the property. Not worth the hassle of driving into York and paying their extortionate accommodation prices - this B & B was perfect.
