格雷斯法院(Grays Court Hotel)

When entering the Grays Court Hotel courtyard you cannot help but be taken in and become part of the history of this fabulous building. It is truly amazing when you take a second to think about it and who has crossed the threshold of this historic house over the centuries, just breathtaking. From the moment we stepped through the door the level of service and the friendly welcome from Suzanna in reception, Helen the owner and all the staff that we met on our short break was second to non and very much appreciated. This was our fourth visit over the past few years and we were fortunate enough to have stayed in the Cumberland room this time which was beautifully and tastefully decorated and the added bonus of having this particular room is the stunning views from the windows out onto the hotel gardens and historic York wall which is magical especially this time of year with the early morning frosts. We stayed for two nights 17th to 19th January 2024 and had breakfast on both days. The food was excellent, very tasty with good quality ingredients we felt and beautifully presented especially the scrambled egg and smoked salmon and the staff were very friendly and chatty too which we liked. We are so glad we found this magical hotel, it really is unique and has so much history just a stones throw away from the centre of York and the Minster. It has become our little haven in the city and we cannot wait to return hopefully very soon!

Stayed at Greys court 16th to 18th December. So impressed by the building itself which was so in keeping with its age and history yet the bedrooms were modern and so comfortable. We stayed in the De Montfort room which was excellent Also,we were most impressed by the quality of the staff who were friendly, pleasant, efficient, everything you could possibly want and there was always someone there when required. The breakfast menu initially seemed limited but in reality you could have anything you wanted. We loved the quenelles of butter, no nasty packets! All in all a memorable stay and will certainly visit again

A very nice hotel, located just by York minister in a wonderful little court yard. We stayed for my husband's birthday and the staff were attentive and added little details that made the stay really nice. We are the first night at the bow restaurant in the hotel and the food was delicious.

Really beautiful hotel with quality staff, rooms and food. There really isn’t anything I could find that was negative about this hotel. Booking the car parking was really worth it. Breakfast was really good and better quality than most hotel breakfasts at a 5* standard. Location is brilliant and central.

Fantastic building and entrance to the rear of York Minster. Ate in the Bow Room (tasting menu and wine pairing). The service was excellent and the pace of delivery for what is a long list was just right. It was not that busy (10 out of 16 covers). The food was imaginative and tasty (couple of vegetable courses were a little disappointing) and the wine pairings generally did their job. Expensive (but not as expensive as others) and for the experience value for money.

We stayed for two nights. The location is so central. Service was exceptional. Our room was dated and very hot. Perhaps we chose the wrong room,but it lacked basic comforts. One small chair for the small desk. No comfortable chairs for watching tv.My wife had to lie on the bed to relax ,watching tv. Sorry to be negative. The bar lacked atmosphere. However only 12 rooms. Breakfast menu was limited. Only one choice .pick one only from a small menu. Never experienced that before. Despite great reviews we felt underwhelmed. But it is really good for walking to all the York attractions.

We had a delightful stay at Grays Court. Everything from arrival to departure was superb. We were met in the car park and helped in with our luggage. In fact the receptionist took our case to the room. We were then given an introduction to the hotel. The staff are all fairly young and without exception were very pleasant and helpful. They were invested in making each visitors stay a good experience. Our room had a great view of the Minster and was very comfortable. Large bed, good quality bedding and quiet. Everything I look for in a hotel stay. The location is also a bonus. Parking on site is £20 a day. Quite steep although worth it for the central location. We had the tasting menu one night and overall it was delicious. Stand out dishes were the cauliflower mushroom, halibut and the two deserts. Great breakfast too. We would certainly stay here again.

What a GORGEOUS hotel. Simply stunning. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and were thrilled with this luxurious and historical accommodation. The staff are highly professional, trained, and experienced individuals who provide top-notch service and are always there to assist you with any of your needs. They truly went above and beyond. I was quite ill (and also on a writing deadline) which made me fairly frazzled during our 2-night stay, but they were incredibly gracious and went out of there way several times to make sure we were comfortable. The aesthetics of this property are wonderful, and we really enjoyed walking the grounds as well as the interior of the property to take in all of the splendor. The dining room was only open for breakfast during our stay, but the food was lovely and the service - yet again - top notch. We stayed in the Edwards room which had a beautiful view overlooking the back garden. There is a private entrance to the York city walls and we spent a leisurely 3-hours one morning walking around the city parameters to explore - paired with a nice stop at the Perky Peacock for a cuppa tea and a scone. York is a beautiful city and I couldn't imagine having stayed in a lovelier property. Although we had a car, the location is very accessible to all of the sites by foot, so we left our car in the car park for the entire stay. Don't hesitate to stay at this wonderful hotel!

We were welcomed by Suzanne who was so friendly, she insisted on carrying our case to our room, explaining the history of the hotel on the way. We stayed in the Cumberland suite overlooking the gardens. The breakfast was excellent with good quality ingredients. We had the taster menu on one evening which was a excellent experience and on leaving we were given water and cookies for the journey.
