The photos online showed bright, modern, clean rooms. When we arrived, the rooms were much older. Didn’t have the same esthetic as the photos. The grey paint was chipping off the cabinets, the shower drain was rusty. There was an old empty set of doors that opened to the studs of hotel with torn drywall….really creepy… no purpose. The lights/lamps in the room didn’t work. I could only turn the bathroom light on and one other lamp. 3 or 4 didn’t work at all.

I spent a weekend recently at this hotel When we arrived at 4:15 our room wasn't even ready. If checkout is at 11:00 I don't see why this happened. The front desk manager had to call staff to take care of cleaning the room and she had an attitude about it The entire hotel is depdorized with a very heavy perfume smell. Not appealing to the senses and actually gave me a headache sleeping in the room the first night. They DO NOT clean the rooms at all and to top that off the Guest has to bring down their dirty towel to receive clean towels. I have never experienced this type of hotel. Breakfast is buffet and served on cheap white picnic plates. The hotel is in bad shape and definitely needs an upgrade. The curtains were yellowing from age and there are no anti slip decals in the shower. No soap for washing you hands and a tiny bar of Dove soap. The bathroom floors are shiny tile and very very slippery even when dry. I ended up taking a fall in the bathroom from the flooring. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Very convenient for our trip from Ohio to the Outer Banks. We've stayed here numerous times and while it isn't 5-star, it is clean and fairly well maintained. And the restaurant right across the parking lot is a great convenience after hours in the car! Don't forget to ask for the discount for hotel guests!

Our experience at this hotel was a good one. The only disappointment was we arrived early in town to prepare for the football game. I was informed that there was an additional fee for early check-in, which at other hotels have been waived in the past. We had some other things that we could take care of to kill time until the regular check-in time so we just reversed our schedule before coming back to freshen up to go to the football game. The staff was very friendly and accommodating other than this incident, which apparently was the hotel policy.

The bed was one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in at a hotel and the pillows were soft and sheets were fresh and clean. When I checked in however, the phone cords looked cut and the side table was pulled out with bits of wire on it. Telephone didn’t work because of that, and other areas of the room were a little dirty, but the bed was pristine and made up for everything else. Good location with plenty of parking.

The hotel is a little dated; it could use a refresh in general. My room was clean, except that the floor needed mopping… sparkles from a previous guests party on the floor, which was pretty gritty. Additionally, the side door being broken was very inconvenient and the insufficient lighting at the doorway for a mature woman traveling alone was concerning.

This hotel is disgusting. I rent here for 41 days and they don’t clean your room often because of being short staffed. I’ve seen roaches and spiders in my room. I have photos. I will never recommend or come back here. If it wasn’t for my job paying for the room I would have cut the stay short. Terrible service

We stayed from September 1st through the third I have to say this is the cleanest hotel I have ever been in this is our third time layer and we absolutely love it room was gorgeous claim very nice people very friendly could not say enough good things about it

Booked room through Wyndham 800 number. Was not told they required $100 deposit with a credit card. Our confirmation email did not indicate a deposit was required . Sign on front desk said you have to pick up towels as they are not in the rooms Another sign stated they only clean rooms every 3 days. I refused to give a deposit so they cancelled my reservation. In 50 years of traveling I have never been asked to pay a deposit when paying by credit card. We drove to Wyndham Days Inn in Altavista. No deposit withCC. Hotel recently renovated very clean. Staff was very friendly.

Always a classy stay at the Winston Salem LaQuinta. Great restaurants within walking distance and nice little pool set-up. Great waffles in the am and the staff very friendly.

The room was fine. Clean and comfortable. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that there was construction going on. But other than that, it was ok.
