We had a triple room, beds were very comfortable, rooms clean, shared ablutions, but very clean, showers very powerful. Brilliant location, a good walk into York itself, but pleasant and went quick enough, the buses stop near the accommodation. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast filling, bacon was amazing not at all salty.

Nice staff, the security was good, they track you in the corridors. Stayed in cell block A, got a bunk bed and had to share a communal shower and toilet. Fire doors slam badly, take ear plugs. If you have a heart defect, I wouldn’t recommend. Take a generator because there is 1 plug per room. Decent location. Breakfast was good!

Great little Bargin place which is actually on the race course and is used for stable boys on race days. Lovely and clean rooms with a nice new bathrooms. Great breakfast with lots of options and a straight 20mins walk into the centre of 7-10 min drive. Staff was so lovely also. We will defiantly go back.

This was great. £30 or so for the night, had a bed and sink. Perfectly comfortable if a bit noisy with fire doors slamming. Had shared shower for my room which was clean and nice, aware there are en suite. The breakfast was nice and decent for the price. And not too far from the city centre

I stayed here as I was attending a retirement night out in the centre. I was initially dubious as this is more like a hostel than a hotel but I needn't have worried. Although basic, my single room was clean and adequate for my needs. The buffet style breakfast was also lovely. I had a hassle free stay and would recommend.

We arrived and our booking could not be found. We had one booking which included three rooms non of which could initially be found. We gave all names possible and then after some time they were found with the first name given. The receptionist made no apologies and when we gave our booking reference we were told that it was no good and we don't use them. There was no customer service and we had to ask questions about how to get in later where our rooms were rather than being told the information. There was no welcome and no eye contact. The next day when waiting in reception for our taxi there was a loud argument between the receptionist and another member of staff with swearing and raised voices in front of us and a dining room full of customers. This was very un professional and not nice to watch. Our room was extremely basic and small for a triple room. Big crack down one of the mugs in the room. Overall just very disappointing.

I had a pleasant stay at Stableside Hostel in York. I really appreciated that there was free parking available on site; it made everything so much easier. The room had some nice facilities including a sink and a kettle with tea and coffee, which was a thoughtful touch. The bathrooms and showers were also very clean. However, the WiFi signal in my room was quite weak, which made it difficult to stay connected. The room also felt a bit cold at times. Additionally, the guests in the neighbouring room (Room 11) were very loud late at night, which affected my sleep. Overall, it was a convenient and comfortable place with some great perks, but there’s definitely room for improvement in terms of noise control and room comfort.

Found this gem of a place online, could not fault at all, the best fried breakfast around. Plenty of parking spaces on site, and been a single story building it was easy to access our room due to mobility issues. The staff, each and every one of them were brilliant, and could not do enough for us. We will definitely book a stay again at the Stableside.

We stayed in the standard family room, the room was spotlessly clean and modern. Staff were welcoming and the breakfast was excellent. We were really impressed with the value for money. A great budget stay. The walk into the centre took about 40 minutes or an uber cost around £9 but there were regular busses running into town. The pub across the road had a great atmosphere and popular for food. Would 100% stay here again.

Stableside deluxe room was really good value for money with the features I would have expected from a larger hotel chain. The staff were really friendly and the breakfast was really good. I have to say that I have rarely stayed in a hotel where the staff serving and cooking breakfast were so welcoming - it was a real joy to eat there. The location was ideal for us with a lovely walk by the racecourse nearby. If you need a full dinner choice then look no further than the Fox and Roman opposite the entrance to Stableside. Thank you!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only a short journey into York. Room was clean, tidy and comfortable for the three of us. Breakfast was very nice with all the staff friendly and helpful.

-Very good price for the area The room was clean, everything you need. A towel and tea and coffee in the room and telly. Only thing in the room that wasn't the best was the heating it was very very cold one night and it wasn't working at all. We had it on full and wasn't wanting to come on when we wanted it too. I did ask at reception and he said to just turn it on by the dial on radiator and it should come on i mentioned i did and i said i wasn't sure if it works on some sort of a timer but he was unsure and says to just turn it on at the dial. I wasn't too fussed as only had 1 more night and managed to finally get warm with the two duvets and dressing gown. Short walk to the shared ladies bathroom facilities. Again kept clean and everything you need. There was even a nice "soak" shampoo and body wash in the shower. There is automatic lighting which is abit of a health and safety concern I would say as in the shower they completely went off even in the shower its self. It was pitch black. There should be a sensor in the shower for the lights to come back on. I did had to step right out to the sinks for the lights to appear back on but the shower its self was great great shower pressure and very nice temperature, was better than my shower at home! Staff nice and pleasant managed to get a hair dryer from them as none in room. Also one helped me get back into my room as when I went for a shower I then couldn't get back in my room as the key stopped working and they responded quickly came round to let me back in. You can hear people coming in and out and the doors slamming but even if you try and close them slowly they are quite heavy doors so will still make some noise, this didn't bother me too much as it stopped around midnight. Breakfast pretty good your usual items aswell as some nice pastries, fruit etc. Only the egg was cold even being under the hot light apart from that all great. I personally quite liked how it isn't right in the center if I'm not used to a area I wouldn't like to be driving right into the center. I found it pretty easy from the motorway to get here and leave. Its only about 10 -15 minutes in a uber into the center. We didn't bother walking as says about 37 mins and was quick and easy getting a uber. There is a chippy straight opposite aswell as a pub restaurant didnt try the restaurant but did grab a take out at the chippy as was very convenient and tasted pretty good. All n all, I would definitely come back here if I needed to ever go back to York as cheap, very convenient for driving and also parking to park right outside your room but then not too far in a taxi 😊

The hotel long term hosts "seasonal workers" who get up between 4am and 5 am every day. This group is excessively noisy from that time, with loud talking, minimus idolding outside bedroom windows, slamming doors Etc. We are halfway through our stay at the moment and some of our group are going to head home early because of this.
