蘭代爾切斯飯店(Langdale Chase Hotel)

A stunning hotel, on the shores of Lake Windermere. From the moment I drove in, I was made to feel very welcome by each member of the team. The hotel has been decorated to a very high standard, keeping original features and restoring those that had been removed over the years. The food was outstanding as are the views. Langdale Chase really is relaxed luxury offering a memorable experience.

Having looked forward to Sunday lunch here for a few weeks we were so disappointed with the food. The hotel is stunning and the view spectacular however the food does not live up to it. The staff were attentive and friendly The food was not good Cold plates Anaemic roast potatoes Small portions of soft vegetables was it meant to be cauliflower cheese ! Thin watery custard Dry sticky toffee pudding with a teaspoon of ice cream Fine dining it is not Food does not live up to the hotel

What a shame! We have been going here for 30 years ,we have seen many owners, all being different, but the hotel position will never change, its perfect. The new owners, Thwaite have done a fantastic job of the refurbishment, looks amazing, not to modern yet clean cool and makes the most of the lake. We are starting layer in the year so went for lunch for my birthday. How disappointed I was. We fond to book and told no need just come. We drove 90 minutes to be told we should have booked but the may fit us in! After I nearly left they found us a table in a half empty bar. The food menu was very limited, I asked to eat in the restaurant which is butiful and was told the only use it for afternoon tea, 1 couple in there. Lunch was OK not good not bad. Staff were that many that were t o busy talking to server, 40 mins for a glass of wine. We were going to book for our wedding anniversary as we married ther 20 years ago. But we will go somewhere else in the lakes instead. What a shame butiful place, but needs decent management!!

We were here for lunch - initial table had a great view of the lake but was a bit draughty so we were given a cosy table by a roaring fire. We both had fish and chips - lovely fish but the chips were a bit too chunky and weren't crisp (would ask for fries next time). The table was rather too small for the large dinner plates plus tea pot, glasses, etc. and we overflowed on to a nearby lamp table.Our server was lovely and attentive but we did feel there were quite a few staff drifting around without a definite purpose - early days though as the hotel has just undergone major - and magnificent- refurbishment. A few little jobs for the maintenance team still outstanding.

We have always enjoyed visiting for lunch, dinner or afternoon tea at this beautiful hotel situated right on the lake. My husband booked a table for Sunday lunch for a special treat knowing that it would be expensive. The refurbishment is beautiful and the staff were friendly. We must have been unlucky the day we went, as other visitors have expressed what wonderful food but sadly our food was poor, small portions and badly cooked. In fact our of the four meals only one was edible. We pointed out to the staff that we couldn't eat our meals but no manager came to apologise. We got the impression they were not that bothered about us as we were not residents.

The hotel has recently been refurbished beautifully, keeping the feel of the building whilst adding luxury modern touches We had a lovely large bedroom with a great seating area, allowing us to sit and watch the sun go down across the lake and snow capped hills beyond. We were incredibly lucky to have two days of perfect sunshine 🌞 Mike and his staff team were first class; professional and attentive but also very friendly. The new restaurant with its floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake is an absolute joy. The food at breakfast and dinner was delicious. A great couple of days in a beautiful hotel and location and I would highly recommend for a special occasion.

Just back from a wonderful stay at Langdale, the hotel has been beautifully refurbished throughout and the staff is wonderful, attentive and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The Langdale Pikes Suite is beautiful though I’m sure others are just as lovely. We didn’t dine in the hotel in the evening on this occasion however breakfast was exceptional. Tip for future, serve nibbles with our champagne, we’ll drink more of it!
