託卡拉別墅飯店(Villa Tokara Boutique Hotel)

We hadden het geluk 2 nachten te verblijven in dit prachtige pand in een fantastische kamer. Stijlvol, groot en luxe. De verwachtingen waren ook hoog door alle geweldige reviews. Toch hadden we wat zaken die het geluksgevoel zeker zouden kunnen vergroten. Ten eerste het zwembad. Wanneer je op het terras ligt kijk je uit op de parkeerplaats. Dat vond ik erg storend. Soms parkeren mensen naast het zwembad. Dit is eenvoudig op te lossen met een een rij bomen of planten. Daarnaast het ontbijt. Na verandering van eigenaar (‘23) wordt er geen ontbijt meer verzorgd. Een groot gemis! Nu zijn er veel uitstekende restaurants in de buurt, maar 3x per dag uiteten is wel wat veel van het goede. Er zijn geen voorzieningen op de kamer, zoals een koelkast, dus zelf iets regelen is lastig. Ook is er geen minimarkt oid heel dichtbij. Ze zijn wel aan het onderzoeken of ze ontbijt kunnen organiseren of de kamers van een soort pantry voorzien. Dat lijkt ons een heel goed plan! Verder wat technische puntjes, zoals het ontbreken van een hotelschakelaar in de badkamer, het niet goed doorspoelen van het toilet, een kapotte lamp die stuk is en een waterkoker die niet goed functioneert. Ten aanzien van de veiligheid is een ander (elektronisch) slot op de toegangshekken te adviseren. Ook omdat er niet altijd iemand aanwezig is. We hebben 2x ‘‘s avonds meegemaakt dat het hek niet op slot zat. Alle feedback uiteraard met het hotel besproken.

Wij verbleven in de zeer ruime suite op de bovenste verdieping. Deze was erg stijlvol ingericht. Er is een fijne zwembad, die wij meestal voor onszelf hadden. Het is op 20 minuten lopen van de Pontjesbrug gelegen. Wil je lekker uit eten, dan kan dat uitstekend bij diverse restaurants die niet meer dan 5 minuten wandelen liggen. Al het personeel is erg vriendelijk en denkt met de gast mee.

What a little gem Villa Tokara is! A beautiful historic house within walking distance to many good restaurants and nightlife. We were there with our 18 year old and enjoyed it. Had the 2 bedroom suite which was great space for us. Staff is there from 8-11am each morning and very nice and helpful at arranging airport transfers, rental cars, suggestions. Pool is wonderful and you can access beach across the street via a day pass at Avila Beach Resort if you want, but to do that RESERVE AHEAD OF TIME - they were sold out when we arrived so we had no walking distance beach option. It was fine because we had a car and there are so many beautiful beaches, but just be aware if it's something you want. Sal The Kitchen is a GREAT restaurant next door, we ate there twice. Also Kome was excellent restaurant and a very short and easy walk. Breakfast spots nearby were good and a short 10 mins walk (Bijblauw and Van Gogh). If you are looking for a place with full time front desk and restaurants on site, this is not for you. But if you are looking for a quiet oasis close to everything and like to walk as we do, then don't hesitate to book. A truly wonderful spot.

We had areally nice stay. The villa is very clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. We had a minor issue with our room but they moved us to another room without hesitation, that was really nice of them. The pool and pool area really quiet and nice. Loved it!

My husband and I had an amazing one-week stay at Villa Tokara. The hotel is quiet and private. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The pool was wonderful and the grounds were pretty. Before our visit, the hotel arranged for our airport pick-up and car rental. The most outstanding feature of Villa Tokara was the hospitality shown to us by the hotel manager. He warmly welcomed us and gave us fantastic advice about restaurants, beaches, and island attractions. Our first visit to beautiful Curacao was made perfect because of his guidance.

I am just completing my fifth day here at Villa Tokara. It is immensely quiet and an ideal place for a solo traveler, or a couple looking for good value. The staff are here for several hours in the morning and are very helpful in arranging everything from a car rental, restaurant reservations, experiences on other parts of the island. The pool is a very nice size and is well kept. The rooms are large, charming, and clean with good staff that takes care of the rooms. Raffi and the team of two other women, depending on the day are warm and conversational. The hotel is very well located, with nearby, restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner Sal and Mosacana restaurants are right next door and merit a visit. This is less than an optimal spot for families with children where greater stimulation, a beach and restaurant would be important. However, there is a beach across the street at the hotel there I would definitely return here.

This is a lovely house that has stylish decor in a shabby chic style. It is located near a few good restaurants and walkable into town. The beds have good quality linen. But it’s not really a hotel. There are cleaners that service your room but otherwise not much staff or service. Other reviews mention breakfast but that’s not on offer. They don’t actually have milk to make coffee. The property is also on Airbnb and I think that is more appropriate. It’s a nice place if you are comfortable with an Airbnb type arrangement but if you were hoping for hospitality and service it’s not ideal.

Beautiful property, very unique. Walkable to lots of dining and shopping.

The villa is amazing and has a lot of charme! It's located close to the centre of Willemstad and there are a lot of very nice and good restaurants around. Anissa was a very welcoming host and made us great breakfast with fresh fruit on request. Our suite was very spacious and we had everything we needed. The kids also loved the pool. We had a wonderful stay!
