We attended a wedding here and stayed overnight. The food was good and the wedding was lovely, but I found staff were incredibly rude towards us. I found they looked down on us a lot. The bedroom was very uncomfortable, the big bed was slanted on one side of the mattress so you couldn’t sleep without falling to one side. The z bed had 2 slats missing in it only found out in the middle of the night when my toddler fell through it as the missing slats were next to each other. The lady on reception was pleasant when I told her about the slats and said it would get looked into so it doesn’t happen to anyone else. The room was so warm making it hard to sleep, when the windows were open we could hear the workers outside throwing bottles into the bins and talking very loud. Overall for the money that was paid for 1 night it wasn’t worth it, especially for the poor bed situation.

I arrived for a night away with a friend, parking was available beside the hotel and also additional parking in a small wooded car park, a short walk to the hotel. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us, there was a lovely welcome note from the owners which I felt held that personal touch. The venue was stunning with a lovely atmosphere and the grounds are worth a walk around as they are well looked after. The night we were there evening meal wasn’t available but they have a pub a short walk in the village. Breakfast was amazing with a huge range of choice again the additional attention to detail made it a special experience.

Beautiful house, delicious food, wonderful stay! Everything from the gorgeous rooms, really helpful and lovely staff (and very friendly owners), and absolutely delicious food! made our way to short stay fantastic! Worth a second visit to enjoy the beautiful gardens. Highly recommend a stay in this historic house.

I booked an impromptu overnight stay at this stunning Grade ll* listed stately hotel which feels like a welcoming luxurious home. The Bridgeman Suite was comfortable, pristine and very well appointed with a lovely view of the garden. The toiletries in the room were from my favourite Harrogate skincare company. The canapés, each course on the tasting menu, my husband’s pescatarian menu and his additional cheese course were absolutely amazing with elements of surprise and delight on every plate. The food, service, ambiance and total dining experience were exceptional. The breakfast was also excellent. The garden, kitchen garden, greenhouse and grounds are stunning and beautifully nurtured. All the staff we encountered during our brief stay were very friendly and exceptionally helpful. I loved the whole Goldsborough Hall experience and personally thought it was perfect in every aspect. I even booked another overnight stay for a future date before we checked out!!

We visited here after reading about the hotel in a Good Food magazine promotion article; we booked a 'discounted' stay for a luxury garden room, the taster menu for dinner and breakfast the next day. We coordinated our trip so it included our 30th wedding anniversary date and extended the stay by another night. We were so glad we did. In advance, I notified them of dietary requirements and these were recorded and dealt with effectively and didn't have any effect on the taster menu - a few items were substituted without any fuss. We were greeted by a lovely lady who confirmed all the details and were advised that we'd been given a complimentary upgrade to a suite - this was a lovely surprise and a treat. We were in the Hutton suite which is very spacious, 8x8 four poster bed, leather sofa and chairs, air conditioning unit, coffee machine and a mini fridge. It has the biggest bath I have ever seen - huge, with a built in Jacuzzi although we didn't use that facility. Bar a couple of small areas where the sealant around the twin sinks needed replacement, it was immaculately clean and tidy. There is an enormous smart TV on the wall and the room was very comfortable. It could only have been improved by having a view of the gardens rather than the side yard and outbuildings but this is a minor detail as who sits and stares out of a hotel room for hours? I must say I was a little nervous about the tasting menu, I did think it would be overly fussy and - of course very small portions - which would leave me feeling hungry. I need not have worried. From the canapes served in the lounge before dinner to the second of the two dessert courses it was excellent and I was full at the end! The formal dining room is neither too big or small and was full on the evening we were there. The service was amazing throughout, with staff explaining the courses in far more detail than the written menu. I don't know how they remember it all. I don't have an advanced wine palate so paying hundreds of pounds for a bottle (which you can if you so chose) would be wasted on me so we just got the least expensive white (£30) which was rather nice. We'd already had a bottle sitting outside on the terrace earlier so just stuck to more of the same; they have pages of wine types to pick from and retrieve from the cellar, I'm confident the staff will be able to explain them all! Breakfast is served in the orangery which overlooks the gardens. It is a tranquil place, soft background music instead of harsh music and rolling news on a TV. There is a good choice of items and everything is cooked freshly to order. I recommend the porridge, it is truly the most delicious I have eaten, I had mine with maple syrup which seemed to have been warmed and came in a nice little jug. The full Yorkshire breakfast was yummy, cooked perfectly and lovely and hot. Tea/coffee/toast can be brought and replenished on demand, all served by very friendly staff. Goldsborough Hall is one of our favourite places to stay and this time was the best ever. Garden room was immaculate and the staff as friendly as ever. The tasting menu was fine dining at its very best. Fresh ingredients thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. Thank you to the fabulous Goldsborough team. We very much look forward to our next visit.

Stayed 1 night for our 30th wedding anniversary in The Hutton Suite which was absolutely amazing with four poster bed the room was huge with modern en-suite felt like royalty. Beautiful house with amazing gardens and country views. We dined in the restaurant and experienced the 7 course taster menu which was lovely and highly recommend. Breakfast in the orangery was also fantastic. The small village is very quaint with a lovely local pub The Bay Horse. Well worth a stay you won’t be disappointed 😊.

Stayed one night in the annex. Beautiful house and grounds with plenty of history. Interesting walks and charming village. Friendly welcome and staff. Room was not that exciting (the ones in the main house look terrific, but come at a price) Dinner was a tasting menu....not usually our "thing" but it was fun and well presented. Not as fussy as a certain Michelin starred restaurant we have been to in Newcastle, and better quality too! Quality, ample breakfast. Not cheap, but worth a treat.
