哈爾小屋民宿(Hare Lodge B&B)

Warm ontvangst door Sue & George. Een heerlijke plek om te verblijven. Ruime schone kamer met balkon aan de tuin. We hebben genoten van alle vogels die op bezoek kwamen. Zorgvuldig en volledig ingericht. Centraal gelegen voor uitstapjes naar oa Stonehenge, Bath of richting kust.

The host was incredibly rude. In fact i dont quite understand why she is in this business as she was cussing all through breakfast and there was all of 4 people she had to cater for, 2 of us and 2 others who also shared a rye smile to us as she flapped around.

Sue and George make this place more than “just”a B & B. Their warmth and friendliness just add to the lovely stay here. The bedroom was perfect, the view over the garden was really lovely. I’ve stayed here 3 or 4 times now and couldn’t imagine staying elsewhere … thought book early … it’s rightly popular ! Great position for local walks and local tours and Tisbury is s pretty little village. If you’re going out for a drink/eat in the village .. don’t bother with The Bennett .. if you’re staying at Hare Lodge to enjoy the Wiltshire countryside.. the Boot would be more your place .. trust me ! Breakfasts are filling , Sue makes her own granola and jams .. definitely worth a try A peaceful, relaxing stay … TOTALLY recommend

This must be the worse property we have ever experienced. The owner Sue is rude and detached of any emotion or curtesy. She was rude and abrupt throughout breakfast, which was quite poor and lacking choice. She ran breakfast like a military maneuver rushing us all. There was a party of 6 in 3 rooms. Rooms ok. Basic clean but the shared bathroom that you had to go into someone else's bedroom to use was not what we expected or even told about. NOT GOOD. After breakfast we were rushed out literally onto the street at 10am sharp, ( cases placed on footpath by owners, even though our taxi to the station wasn't arriving until 10.30 which was the agreed leaving time. This whole experience left my 80 yr old mother very distressed and tearful. Owner Sue also changes her mind about room prices on a daily basis, so get it in writing from her as she charged my friend £20 more than the advertised room cost and tried to charge us extra which we thankfully had written confirmation of original costs which she had to accept. ( she seems a little scatty) As the owner rushed around at breakfast like a headless chicken ( serving a huge amount of 6 guests) mentioned several time, that its all getting a bit much for her and might pack in this 'guest house lark' let's hope she does. Give someone else a chance to run a pleasant property. This Really Spoilt an otherwise lovely weekend away. STEER WELL CLEAR OF THIS PLACE AND VERY RUDE AND UNWELCOMING OWNERS. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!! I would actually score lower than 1 but couldn't. Lol A real shame as Tisbury a lovely little town now tarnished by this experience.

Very comfortable stay. Room was large, peaceful and comfortable. George was a great host, always willing to help, including giving me a lift to pick up my car (given than the local taxis aren’t amazing). Continental Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, especially the homemade lemon marmalade!

From the moment we stepped off the train in Tisbury and spotted our host George's smiling face, we immediately felt like lost cousins come to visit. The free lift to the spacious and comfortable Hare Lodge was a welcome rest from journey over from Canada, and saved us the effort of lugging our hiking gear and baggage through the lovely village of Tisbury, just one stop past the storied city of Salisbury in the West Wiltshire Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Located just a 10 minute walk from Tisbury village centre in Tuckingmill, Hare Lodge is a fabulous home base from which to head out on the extensive (and beautiful) public rights of way that are webbed throughout the countryside. When you descend after a night in your generously appointed room, you are immediately met with the heady scent of warm butter that can only come from croissants. Home made muesli, cereals, and fresh berries are just the start as the aforementioned croissant, rolls, charcuterie, and hard boiled eggs make their way to the table with a proper pot of strong tea. George and Sue are the perfect hosts, showing genuine interest and offering excellent advice and service. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer as it was not only a lovely place to stay but our hosts were so warm and friendly we would have loved to got to know them more. We cannot recommend Hare Lodge enough, and we look forward to our next visit! Tip: If you are planning on using the extensive footpath system, the paper Ordinance Survey maps are excellent to use in the evening to plan, but we wholly recommend paying for the app for your phone that can show your location on the GPS. With so many paths available it is a time saver so you can spend more time enjoying the walk rather than trying to orient yourself when at a junction.

From the warm welcome thru to us leaving this is a really super place to stay. George and Sue can’t do enough for you. The accommodation is immaculately clean and nothing seems out of place with everything you could wish for. We stayed for a wedding at a nearby venue and the whole weekend could not have been better. The breakfast which is included in the rate was also top notch. Definitely a place to stay if you are in the area or wishing to visit Stonehenge and Salisbury.
