瓦爾豪拉斯星級飯店(Walhalla's Star Hotel)

This was a last minute getaway for me and hubby for two nights, never been to Walhalla before and absolutely pleasantly surprised by the history and heritage. When you decide to visit Walhalla you must book this accommodation, The Star is an absolute star! Michael and Russell are excellent hosts, lots of stories to tell about the local area, Russell galantally works as a volunteer for the CFA and Michael can testify about the bushfires in the surrounding area over the decades, of note The Star or township have never been affected so please rest assured. We were delighted to learn about an upcoming movie to be filmed at the hotel and environs, its with Liam Neeson mid January. The area is to depict Nepal, you guys have to come here and experience this hidden gem. We went on the train for 1 hour to Thomson River bridge and we did the gold mine tour, absolutely loved them both. We went to the Thomson Reservoir (dam) during our stay, very picturesque. Accommodation at The Star was awesome, the dinner package was amazing, beautiful two course meal included in the booking with a continental breakfast served in the morning. There's a 24/7 honesty bar for those who like a fine wine or alcoholic beverage or snack. Tea and Coffee are free and stations are located on both levels. We cannot fault this place at all, albeit we didn't have enough time to spend time with their dogs.

Staying at the Star Hotel in Walhalla is the icing on the cake in an extraordinary little township full of interesting museums, a gold mine to explore, a vintage steam train to ride and the most picturesque cricket ground in the world. In the tradition of a European pension, the Star Hotel offers guests bed, breakfast and dinner. The latter being something to really look forward to at the end of the day with a good selection of wines. Delicious meals, excellent rooms, plenty of books, hospitable owners and two very loveable Golden Retrievers. Need I say more? The Star Hotel is to feature in a film production next week. Hence the unusual colour of the exterior of the building. We have been assured the traditional colour will be restored at the end of filming.

We had a great one night stay at the Star Hotel. Large rooms with a very comfortable king size bed. Dinner options were varied and delicious. The coffee/tea stations on each floor were a great idea. Would definitely recommend and re-visit..

This comfortable hotel is the heart of Walhalla. Wahalla is an historic goldmining town, which flourished and then declined, then revived. The population is small, but there's lots to see, it is truly an historic pioneering town, maintained largely by volunteers. By the way, Walhalla is said to be haunted.

Had a wonderful last minute stay with Michael, Russell and the guest relations team of the delightful Rupert & Tilly. Wonderful hosts and the warmest welcome in the region. Many thanks & we look forward to visiting again!

Stayed here for 2 nights and had the full dinner package along with Breakfast and house wine package. The rooms are nice although the showers need a ln upgrade. The hosts are excellent along with the beautiful Tilly and Rupert. Everything is within walking distance and not having to worry about two meals was a bonus.

A really lovely hotel, great rooms and cosy feel. Rate includes dinner which was very nice - great wines too. Perfect location in the centre of this really interesting gold mining town. Highly recommend spending a night here after doing the mine tour.

Great place to stay with lots of old world charm and a great host. Location is an old mining town with historic buildings, restored narrow gauge train line and Ghost Tours each Saturday evening ( check your fitness). Definitely worth the journey.

Wow! You get lucky sometimes! We had just spent a couple of nights in a dive on the outskirts of Melbourne. When we entered our room at Walhalla's Star Hotel, we were both relieved and absolutely thrilled. The furniture and furnishings are so tasteful, the room and bathroom are spacious and extremely comfortable, and everything is super clean. It is so nice to stay in a place where people clearly take pride in the accommodation, the maintenance of it, and the service they provide to guests. Oh, and dinner was delicious!
