樂園塔韋馬尼飯店(Paradise Taveuni)

My daughter is a keen scuba diver and, in searching for dive opportunities in Fiji, came across Paradise. We were 3 generations travelling, with my daughter, granddaughter and me. Flight in a small plane is needed to get to Taveuni and it offers fabulous views and insight out the window as to what awaits. At Paradise we stayed in a Family Bure which had 2 rooms and an inside bathroom as well as an outdoor shower. The rooms were air conditioned and had louvred windows with insect netting. There was a bar fridge with a kettle and cups and glasses available. And I won’t forget the home made cookies provided daily which were yum! Talking about food, the restaurant is run differently to anywhere I have been before, which I think was really well done. Each morning at breakfast you are given the menus for lunch and dinner to pre-order. The menu had an excellent range on offer, even for my fussy family, and we were never disappointed. Each day was themed. We often found ourselves sharing a table with others for meals, and met people from all over the world. I think this way of running the restaurant would also save on a lot of wastage but any leftovers were used to feed the animals at the resorts farm over the road. The diving lived up to expectations and my daughter dived often, with the boat leaving early morning and returning by lunchtime. Snorkelling was really good right out the front as well. If you’re looking for a sandy beach holiday this isn’t the place for you as there isn’t one at Paradise. But there were a lot of activities and tours to do. Including visiting the local village which we loved. The pool is right on the edge of the cliff overlooking the sea and was well used by us. It really felt much friendlier than any resort I’d ever stayed at before. We were sad to leave and I’d love to go back one day.

Friendly, welcoming staff, lovely modern rooms with great outdoor showers, beautiful garden and best of all, great snorkeling right in front of the resort. Paradise is famous for diving and this did not disappoint. Highly recommend. Sad to leave after a week, but feel relaxed, with an appreciation of the genuine Fijian warmth and hospitality.

We stayed at Paradise Resort as sailors and divers on our private yacht for 5 nights. The owners and all staff were very welcoming to us. We enjoyed all restaurant meals, went on different dives for 3-4 days, had massages onsite and participated in local social events with the resort guests. This is an absolutely wonderful resort - really could not have asked for anything else in our short visit to Taveuni. Thank you Allan, Terry and your entire staff !!

I stayed 4 nights at Paradise with a friend. My main focus was scuba diving which was superb. Shout out to all the dive staff and boat captain. You all run a great outfit! Thrilled that the excellence continued with the room (stayed in two bedroom bure), meals (excellent and healthy!), activities (cultural and interesting) and customer service (the best of any hotel I've stayed) . The staff really makes effort to call you by your name and everyone was so warm, always with smiles. Thank you, Terri, for the quick replies prior to arriving and for your warm hospitality. I truly felt like I was visiting family.

I'm having concerns bout having been exposed to water provided in glass refilled bottles in our rooms and on refillable water bottles the dive boats - I've been experiencing digestive issues since arrival for our dive trip which have varied from day to day but persist still after returning to the US. I know several others in our large dive group also experienced the same. I think it would be a good idea to stock anti-diarrheal treatments for guests, as we had brought insufficient Imodium to treat ourselves for the duration.

Spent a little over a week at Paradise. Service was top notch from the airport pickup, boat shuttle to the resort, side trips, restaurant and spa staff. Diving was subject to tides and weather but we never had a bad dive. Our White Wall dive was very crowded though, and I know it's the most popular dive location, but felt it would have been better suited to smaller groups. All of our meals were good, and the bakery located on site never disappointed. We did a side trip to the waterfalls and although it was hard work getting to the top on a rainy day, the payoff was worth the effort. I would like to see some investment in the dive equipment for the price that we paid... I spent my time in a torn wetsuit with a sticky regulator, and fins in the right size had to constantly be swapped out due to breaking and availability. Dive staff did make us feel very comfortable in the water though. Paradise is a great getaway for couples, affords as much privacy as you wish to have, lovely grounds and many activities aside from diving to partake in.

While the position and view is very pretty (hence the 2 stars), service and foods falls rather short, dealing with issues even shorter. We have been to Fiji 3 times and this was our 4th resort destination around Taveuni on this trip (from AU$425 a night to $1,500 a night). Paradise sat about in the middle of our price experience. The food was of a standard we would call 'pub food' and was not as good as anywhere else we stayed. [For those who want to know the best value and certainly the best food we had (at the cheapest place) it was at Coconut Grove on Taveuni - which also had the best snorkelling/coral/fish off Honeymoon Island. Matangi, the most expensive, is worth the money with great food, good snorkelling and spectacular service]. So, back to our story: In one day: - we had to ask three times for sauces to go with our lunch (by the time they arrived lunch was cold); - after discussing with the owner our afternoon departure time the evening before, they gave us a checkout in the morning (no big deal, just a miscommunication); - sunset cocktails took 30 minutes to arrive (well after the sun had set) and they got the order wrong; - my wife ordered the special 4 course Lobster dinner which they started serving 15 minutes after the first course of my two course meal. After the first two of the special courses they announced that they did not have any lobster!! None of these on their own are worth complaining about, but as they added up we asked to speak to the owner who we could see was floating around. Instead, she sent over her Manager. They gave us two glasses of red wine (that my wife does not drink) and found some lobster and crab. They then, to be fair, organised the late checkout.

I spent a week in Paradise for diving vacation. Overall i visited 4 resorts during my Fiji vacation and looking back i had the best experience at Paradise mostly because of the family atmoshere and the tireless staff. There is always room for improvement in materialistic things like food (which is very good overall) or diving (which is great, probably some room for improvement in the equipment and grouping strong divers together to more difficult dive sites) but the people are top. Found the welcome and farewells very cute and touching, the cookies left in the fridge every day also a cute touch. Everyone did an excellent job if i had to pick the top i would say from DMs is AP and from staff Eta "the little boss"....I will miss the daily smiles and jokes from the staff. Isa Lei.

Paradise Taveuni - My wife and I recently returned from our second trip (February 2024) to Paradise Taveuni. We are experienced divers (over 4,000+ dives jointly) and travellers and were so happy that we returned again to Paradise. Terri, the Kiwi owner, does an excellent job with all aspects of the resort, especially with her well trained and experienced staff. The entire resort makes all of the guests feel very welcome and 'at home' - we especially wanted to recognize her staff members, Flo and Eta for their excellent care. The grounds are lush and beautiful, food is very good, great availability of offsite tours if one desires, and the accommodations are fantastic - well maintained and cared for. We found the dive operation professional and safe. They have several boats, including one fast (2 * 300 hp motors) boat with a spacious upper deck for lounging between dives. They typically do 2 dives every morning returning for lunch, each limited to about 45-50 minutes. A third boat dive is available and all of the house reef (which is very good!) Dives are free. Nitrox is available for an extra charge. Another thing we liked about the resort is how well they integrate into and support the locals and their economy. We have even met staff members at other Fijian resorts that have been excellently trained at Paradise. Overall a very good experience. We plan on returning again in the future.
