The Staff are below average for Helpfulness, Friendlyness and Respectless towards GUESTS. Guests Are the only Reason for the Existance of a Hotel and the Only Reason for having Staff. At first apperance the garden, parking area and grounds are clean, but the garden needs attendance. Reception Staff are Not Helpful, do Not offer Assistance with luggage. Guests have to wait at check-in desk, until the Clerk has finished staring at the computer or finished talking to colleague. Rooms are clean and functional, but decor is dated. Maintenance on buildings are totally neglected. The restaurant staff are extremely slow and unwilling to assist. One has to walk towards them where they are standing, seemingly hiding from Guests. Orders are incomplete, when eventually received. Buffet style breakfast is well prepared and varied with good quality. Please, do Not Expect much from restaurant staff, as it seems they have the idea that Guests should rather self serve and not bother them. Senior Staff Members were Not Visible Anywhere. This is an important function of Management, but Emerald resort does Not realise the Importance. The lack of Service from Staff is a clear indication of a Lack of Guidance from Management. This could EASILY be turned to better, IF Management realise Their Responsibility towards Guests and the establishment. Stand up and Manage Yourselves and Staff and All will change towards an enjoyable and memorable experience to Guests.

Bella struttura, camere confortevoli e comode, personale alla reception gentile ed attento. Abbondante la colazione. Pessimo il servizio in camera. Lavorano male e solo quando hanno voglia. Due volte ho avuto necessità di usufruirne e due volte hanno dimostrato la poca voglia di lavorare.

Originally booked the Chalets as we wanted to be close to the river but on arrival , late afternoon were put off by the loud noise of other patrons and the boom-boom of the large number of taxis, we were ably assisted by Thabo to upgrade to the Hotel. If you want a quiet, romantic weekend the we will suggest that you stay away from the chalets.

I would say the hotel is satisfactory and in definite need of an upgrade. The bedding and bed were awesome but the walls, decor, furniture all need updating. The aircon is loud and noisy and the hotel should perhaps in solar etc. as the aircon does not work when there is load shedding. A lot of the TV channels did not have sound, and the shower door did not close. I think for the price you pay, you can expect more. Thanks

The staff were really Helpful especially Kele who assisted me in switching rooms. It’s rare to have get service of such a high standard these days. Staff are highly professional and very friendly ensuring a pleasant experience all round. 10/10 I would definitely recommend staying at emerald hotel

What a wonderful experience! Would highly recommend. Staff at the Hotel were amazingly friendly and professional. From Reception to room service to breakfast staff just outstanding!! The Auqua Dome was VERY disappointing. The staff open when they want to. Literally an hour after the board signs says and online times. The only slide is not always open as the life guard wants to chat to his friends so closes and opens at random. If you ask him to use the slide he will tell you in 20 minutes.

A safe haven especially for kids. A shuttle pick up every 30min from reception to the Aquadome. Don't despair if you forgot the salt & pepper, a convenience center is less than 2km away and the Vaal Mall is 10 minutes away. A mini market is at the reception but too expensive. Be sure to pack a flay swatter & insect repellent. The resort needs to do something about the flies. 80% friendly staff. Use the Waze app, it takes you directly to the reception to check-in. The chalets are 2 star with fully equipped kitchen. They are in the process of renovating chalets, be sure to ask for the newly renovated chalet. Would visit again.

I understand that those are old designed chalets, but they need to be kept in good condition. The interior infrastructure seem to be dilapidated and not taken care of. The sheets are clean but not up to the standard I had expected for such a place. Be that as it may, I enjoyed my stay and it allowed me to reconnect with the nature.
