卡利多尼安飯店(Caledonian Hotel 'a Bespoke Hotel’)

Walls are paper thin. Did not do breakfast as I thought it was too expensive. Location, staff were good. My booking was a last minute decision so I was probably lucky to get a room.

The location was good, very close to the port and maine street. However, the hotel itself is very old and is in desperate need of a renovation. Facilities and rooms were very very old, and it almost felt like a hospital rather than a hotel! Of course, not as clean as a hospital would be. Breakfast was terrible as well and all in all this was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed. Lastly, wifi wasn't working anywhere in the hotel, I called reception to ask if there's anything that can be done and I was advised they'll look into it and call me back. As expected no one ever called me back. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

L'hôtel est joli d'extérieur, une ambiance un peu froide dedans, principal problème l'isolation phonique des chambres (simple vitrage et on entend beaucoup les gens des chambres du dessus). Nous avons trouvé l'hôtel assez cher pour la presta proposée. Petit dejeuner très sympa cependant.

Double bed must be for midgets. The smallest double bed we have ever slept in. Very uncomfortable. Room (206) appears to have recently decorated which was reasonably done. Although door stop was lying on its side with a two inch screw sticking out. Hotel is being refurbished which we were unaware of when booking. Lots of noise from the workforce. As a result would not recommend this hotel

The hotel has recently had a complete facelift. Clean and comortable. Staff were great, breakfast was excellent. Upgraded parking area at rear. Have stayed before and the improvements have made a positive impact.

Stayed last year, prior to recent upgrades. Lovely staff. Good service snd very clean. On tbe negative side....room heaters on all night, making sleep difficult, only able to open one window, bedside lights not working, and tv installed in a very odd angle in relation to the bed, which is the only place you could sit and watch it. Perhaos staff could test each uograded room, before anyone stays in it?

We stopped here as part of an NC500 run. That is about the only thing to commend it. This is an old hotel with quite a large number of rooms, but it is run as if they are surprised at the number of people staying there and would rather there were no guests. The hotel was completely full when we stayed in mid-September. There is no evening dining, and you are directed to the sea-food restaurant just down the hill. (Book here beforehand or try the Argyle Arms in front of the loch for very good food.) The staff at the sea food restaurant are equally uninviting and can't quite believe their luck at their good fortune either. The hotel breakfast was a reasonable buffet, but with a backdrop of a staff who couldn't wait for you to go. The hotel is noisy with thin walls and wooden floors. Everything is tired and worn out, the maintenance man must be very busy. Nothing a good fire and change of staff couldn't cure.
