This hotel is fabulous, staff were so friendly and helpful. rooms are lovely with all the extras you could need. views of the sea are spectacular. we loved the piper playing which was every night before dinner and the complimentary shortbread was delicious at reception. If you go you really must have the breakfast which was the absolute best food I have ever eaten, the smoked salmon omg, never tasted anything so good! The choice is mind blowing, you won't need anything else to eat until tea time! Sitting watching the sea while eating delicious food was my favourite experience! We are definitely planning to go back again!

Fantastic location, stunning views. The entire complex including hotel is spotless and the staff are extremely well trained, all smiling and helpful. Walk up to the lighthouse is great. The pool and spa areas are fabulous, treatments were wonderful. Kids loved the pool area. We are not golfers yet but it certainly looked interesting.

I've usually got something to ****** about when I go to a hotel or restaurant, but i really can't fault anything. This is an exceptional hotel. The place is immaculate inside and out, including the spa. The food is excellent and the service is first class. The location is spectacular. Think what you like about the owner, but he knows how to run a high class hotel. 10/10. Looking forward to my next vist.

Turnberry is a very special place. It is beautifully situated and immaculately maintained, but it is the staff who make Turnberry extra special. Thank you Anna for your kindness and thoughtful attention to detail. You always go above and beyond, and you made our stay memorable and extra special. Thank you to Gordon for the wonderful tour of the hotel and kitchen. And thank you to Alan - a cheery face in the breakfast room, always ready to chat and share a joke! We look forward to our next trip.

A group of us booked back in January for a Champagne Afternoon Tea Experience for seven people on the 9th March. The celebration was a 50th birthday. We expected a reminder of the booking from Turnberry a few days ahead of this date. When there was none, one of our group drove to the hotel to confirm all was in order. She was told they had no record of our booking. A staff member assured her that she would personally record our Champagne Afternoon Experience in the diary. A deposit was offered but declined, as deemed unnecessary. We arrived, in great spirits, on the 9th March to find the hotel were not expecting us!! Several other groups were there, enjoying afternoon tea. We were told to take a seat while they organised a table for us. We were all extremely annoyed and embarrassed on behalf of the organiser of our group and the birthday guest. The birthday guest indeed had to stop the manager putting two round tables together for us, as it would have been completely inappropriate for a group of seven. When they did cobble together square tables, seat us and take our orders, it took a little while for our food to arrive but a further age for our drinks to come. The Afternoon Tea ultimately was okay. But we had booked for an Experience. And the Experience fell far short of our expectations. A Champagne Afternoon Tea at Turnberry is rather expensive. At no point did anyone apologise to us for the annoyance and embarrassment caused. At no point did anyone offer any gesture of goodwill to compensate us for the annoyance and embarrassment. And when we were charged, a 10% service charge was automatically added to our bill!! There are lots of lovely places to take Afternoon Tea in Ayrshire. I for one would not recommend Turnberry. I will not be back.

Great stay at Turnberry, dealt with Greg at check in, he was really good and was very personable! Even after check in he would go out his way to chat to us. Room was amazing, it was a signature suite which consisted of large lounge/dining area, separate bedroom and amazing bathroom with the bath at the window overlooking Ailsa Craig. Visited the golf club for dinner, food was amazing! Sandra & Brad were really nice!

We went to enjoy a birthday present for afternoon tea. The surroundings are lovely, the decor pleasing, the view outstanding and the staff pleasant. BUT: disappointments as hotel is billed as 5 star. Afternoon tea arrived but two items missing. Waiting staff quickly recognised this and they were brought to us almost immediately. ( no one checking?) I had to ask for a pot of hot water when tea arrived .( surely that should have been provided) Cute little tea strainer but no holder.( is that what the other big plate was for?) We asked for a diet coke..never arrived. We had to ask for fresh tea as it was never offered. So all in all it was pleasant and the food was lovely but not as top notch as they like to think of themselves. So a trifle disappointing as it was for a special occasion.

We have stayed here before a few years ago and had the best time. This time the experience was completely different and not what we would’ve expected from a 5 star resort. Upon arrival it was just me as my husband was still working and would not be joining me until five o’clock. My room had a view of the car park, the mini fridge had other peoples food in it. The bathroom was not clean as it should be. I am not one for complaining but at the price we paid to stay here I had to say something. We were moved and upgraded to an ocean view room which was very kind of Samantha she was a star. I had a complimentary drink while I had to wait on the room. We didn’t get into our room until after 5.30pm. I didn’t get time to use the facilities with the spa. Then in the morning we had orders breakfast to our room it was included in our stay. We received toast and coffee and tea. Along with two poached eggs. No Scottish breakfast for either of us. We immediately got dressed and left as it just ruined our stay. It wasn’t the experience we wanted. And from the hotel being five star it certainly didn’t feel that on our stay. I can’t fault the staff they were lovely. I just wish we had the stay we wanted for our anniversary.
