里奇蒙阿爾姆斯飯店(Richmond Arms Hotel)

très bon hôtel dans le charme ecossais . le gérant est sympa . bonne literie. très bon resto pour pas trop cher avec des whisky au bar à 3 euros . le petit déj est anglais. un petit buffet néanmoins avec céréales et fruits . tout ça dans un beau petit village des Highlands . vraiment belle découverte

La struttura è storica, credo di fine ottocento, e francamente un po' di manutenzione e di pulizia in più non guasterebbe. Colazione buona, la cucina non l'abbiamo provata perché arrivati tardi. Camere piccoline. Moquette dappertutto. Tra tutti quelli visitati durante la vacanza direi che è il peggiore ma comunque sufficiente

First class hospitality, lovely rooms, mountain bike storage provided last minute without any qualms, good food and drink and nice a**osphere in the bar area, with decent facilities, and friendly staff. A pleasant experience and glad we stayed.

Beautiful large rooms with a tub for a plus! Hotel staff were caring, noticed my parter was unwell and offered to package room for our room so we would be comfortable. Cannot appreciate the comparison he showed us after a long day of driving and very little energy to think. Those small touches go a long way

A great family hotel, with loads of character. We have stayed here a number of times when in the Cairngorms, and always come back. The owner, Martin, and his team always go out of their way to make a cosy, comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable stay for a family with young children. Martin remembered us from previous visits and knew what we liked. A beautiful Victorian building, originally a hunting lodge, with many original features and great views, currently undergoing a gentle process of refurbishment.

Tomintoul is a really small town and we might have been there in off season, so it was really quiet. But the room was big, the view over the town center awesome and the nightsky as well ;-) We had dinner and breakfast there and I liked both a lot. All of the staff were really nice and I also got greeted by the cute cat!

A very friendly welcome in this lovely old hotel in Tomintoul. Nice twin room, good shower pressure. Oddly, no towel rail in the bathroom. Excellent venison casserole for dinner. Good selection on the breakfast menu. Kindly made me a sandwich for my lunch on the Speyside Way. Would happily stay again.

On the surface the Richmond Arms Hotel looks dowdy and had seen better days. The reality was a hotel full of character, very helpful staff and a comfortable two day stay. Our original plan was to eat at the hotel for one night and the restaurant across the road for the second, but the hotel food was so good we ate there both nights. The hotel bar was a friendly place, with Tomintoul whisky at just £3.70 a shot.

Good points - staff friendly, food very good. Don’t know how long the owners have been here but there’s great potential. Not so great - the hotel is dated and in need of an update, the chair in our room had a broken seat and it just felt tired. The bar had a row of armchairs in front of it which might be a Scottish thing but seemed odd?
