米納安格灣度假飯店(Minang Cove Resort)

Für mich war es der perfekte Ort zum Ausruhen, Seele baumeln lassen und Geniessen. Das kleine Resort bietet Komfort, leckeres Essen nach Art der lokalen Küche, guten Wein, herrlichstes Meer mit Korallenriff und ein total schönes, naturbelassenes Hinterland zum Erkunden. Last but not least ein grosses Dankeschön an die Menschen, die sich vor Ort um alles so liebevoll kümmern, immer ansprechbar und hilfsbereit sind und sehr freundlich:)

L’information principale qu’il faut connaître avant de réserver au Minang Cove Hôtel est que ce ne sont plus les propriétaires qui gèrent l’établissement mais leurs enfants, Sofia & Daniel (qui n’ont obtenu la majorité qu’il y a quelques années à peine). Étonnant de prime abord mais pourquoi pas après tout, si la qualité de services est au rendez vous ? Sofia est censé manager la totalité de l’hôtel et Daniel est censé s’occuper des plongées. S’agissant de l’hôtel, nous avons été étonnés de lire de précédents commentaires élogieux sur l’accueil de Sofia car malgré notre séjour de 6 jours, tout de même, elle ne nous aura jamais adressé la parole…(alors que nous l’apercevions parfois) ni pour le check in, ni pendant le séjour, ni pour le check out. Concernant la plongée, nous avions informé l’hôtel que nous souhaitions plonger chaque jour, ce qui nous avait été confirmé auparavant. Daniel est gentil et cool mais peut être un peu trop cool ? Vous devrez insister 2, peut-être 3 fois, et cela chaque jour, pour vous assurer que la sortie plongée aura bel et bien lieu. Pour conclure, nous confirmons que l’hôtel bénéficie certes d’un cadre paradisiaque mais est-ce que cela suffit? Un grand merci tout de même au barman qui a été à notre écoute et a été très sympathique. Dommage pour le reste, tous les ingrédients sont là pour passer un excellent moment.

Had the most amazing stay here with a friend. Right from the beginning we were met on the jetty by the owner, Tony, who took us to the bar for a lovely welcome drink. It was served to us by Jay, who became a highlight of our trip with his smiling service and delicious daiquiris. Over the course of our stay, all staff went above and beyond to show us around and make us feel at home. From arranging last minute day trips for us, or accommodating certain meal preferences, the service was second to none. Even when our ferry changed last minute, Tony and his daughter, Sophia, woke at 5am to take us to the ferry terminal in the dark. The beach was stunning and the sunset views were amazing. Our room was clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view over the beach. It’s worth knowing that there is currently no WiFi connection, but it actually makes it a welcome retreat. I believe they are currently getting a cable in place, but you really see the benefit of switching off. Will definitely be recommending this place to others and hope to be back one day. I would like to say a big thank you to Sofia and her team (and the very nice and professional Jay) for making our stay so smooth and enjoyable. Sofia was super professional and helpful during the whole stay. The resort is very nice and family/kids friendly. We traveled there with our 9-month-old baby and we had a great time. The resort is quiet and beautiful. The food is nice as well ! We really appreciate the whole stay and the team. The resort has a friendly and family vibe which makes you feel comfty and "at home". Again, a big thank you to Sofia and her team for making it memorable. We also loved the fish feeding at night, we could see lot's of sharks! the only downside would be the poor internet connection, but it's the same on the whole island !

Minang Cove's charms are many: location, location, location! Beach-front on tioman. Far enough away from the jetty to feel like its your own private island. Close enough you're not enduring an endless private boat ride after your ferry trip... The rooms are spartan. The food is mostly buffet - a blend of western and Malay. We have a picky teenage eater. He did fine. You don't come for the food. Great bar. Great service and staff. Why Tioman - and specifically Minang Cove: the crystal blue water. The perfect cove for kids to swim. Family snorkeling off of an extremely healthy reef right off the beach. Plus a certified dive master and boat straight from the resort at a super reasonable rate. They offered kayaks, snorkel gear, beach toys for kids. Plus the beach furniture was in really good shape - so you could actually relax beachside in comfort. We had a 16-year old, two 8 year olds and two five year olds and four adults. Everyone found their groove. The resort has a private freshwater spring - so the drinking water was filtered off of that. Good bathrooms and access from the beach. And the staff was so kind. They let my daughter play with the kitten near the kitchen. Sophia - the proprietor's daughter - was our amazing bar tender and child-entertainer. She had the kids doing jumps off the pier into the clear deep blue water. And the secret adventure of minang cove - the evening reef shark feeding - it dazzled everyone. (and we all felt very safe swimming in the water the next day.) THANK you Sophia!! A great four day family vaca. Loved loved it.

30 years is a long time for locally owned establishments to keep up their unique identity and high standards. With only 10 guest rooms the staff and family management at Minang Cove have been steadfast in their mission - to offer a small resort that is remembered and revisited. One perfect indication of their success is how often they can be fully booked. Another terrific barometer for quality is when a resort retains its staff. They've maintained a kid friendly yet serene place. We love this place!

We were so sad to leave Minang Cove today after an amazing vacation. The resort felt very quiet and out of the way and we spent most days just swimming and kayaking and relaxing with cocktails at the beautiful beach. For more adventurous types there is also hiking, snorkeling, boat trips and so on but we were happy to just chill. Our room was comfortable, clean, spacious and the best part was the large balcony overlooking the ocean. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We traveled with our toddler son and found the resort very family friendly with high chairs, cribs and toddler sized life vests. The beach is also really kid friendly with very calm, warm water which gets deeper very gradually. We really had an amazing time and considering what we’ve seen of the rest of the island, are 100% certain we picked the best possible place to stay. If you’re looking for a relaxing, peaceful holiday in a beautiful place far from the crowds I couldn’t recommend Minang Cove Resort more highly.
