主街飯店(Main Street Inn)

We loved it. Charming, quaint, quiet and clean. A little confusing with where to park and how to get in, but we re-read the email when we arrived and managed to figure it out. Good was very good the next morning and we got a free wine tasting at the winery (15 min away) as part of our stay (that place was also beautiful).

Vintner's Inn Kutztown by Folino Estate Winery (formerly Main Street Inn) was a charming place to stay this summer for my KU reunion weekend with the girls. I booked The Sangiovese Room (was The Wanner Suite "sunflower room") at the top of the stairs, with an outdoor balcony overlooking the sycamore tree & church next door. It was so nice to be welcomed with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies & daily wine & cheese. My room was clean, cool, and quiet. Keyless entry made coming & going a breeze. Morning breakfast of coffee, frittata, pastry, fresh berries & yogurt was yummy. I travelled in by bus from NY (Kutztown is very walkable) so I did not have a car while staying there & did not visit the winery. I look forward to visiting it in the future with friends! While in town, visit Paisley & Co. on Main St. for custom soaps, fragrances & lotion. And for a take-out dinner or a slice, Mama's Delight two blocks away is still the best!

The Main Street Inn, now known as the Vintner’s Inn, provides a comfortable, newly updated and pleasant place to stay in Kutztown. As they have recently changed hands, some aspects of our stay needed some attention. Tied to the Vintner’s Winery just outside Kutztown, wine was offered in the afternoon to guests between 5-6 p.m. The hostess knew nothing about the wines offered and there were only 2 types available. (Over the course of the 2 days we were there, times were not the same with shop closing up by 4 our 2nd day.) It seems staff should be familiar with the wines made at the winery as a marketing strategy which might entice guests to visit the winery. We did visit and were given a complimentary tasting since we were staying at the Inn. When booking, it was stated robes were provided, we didn’t bring any and there were none there. Several TV channels were “unavailable”. Coffee was supposed to be available at 7 along with a continental breakfast. On both days, these were not prepared on time. Some of these little things would move our rating from a 4 to a 5. Staff was pleasant and helpful. No bottled water in the room on our second day, we had to ask. Decor is beautiful, just work out some of the “bugs”! The Inn has real potential to provide excellent lodging.

We stayed at the inn after a family wedding at Folino Estate Winery. We arrived at 9:30PM. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but the pillows were thick and hard. Location was quiet. The quality and quantity of food offered at breakfast was disappointing. Baked goods were poor quality and the two hot dishes had only a tiny amount left at 9:00AM with no more available when we inquired. Seems like the inn has a bare bones staff who are somewhat inexperienced. A nice room in a historic building, but a bit disappointing.
