We had wanted to visit Adelaide in winter to get away from the hot weather in Singapore and chanced upon the listing of Barossa House in Barossa valley. It was about 3 minutes outside of downtown Tanunda but it was a perfect spot to base ourselves for visits to the nearby towns of Angaston, Nuriootpa and the Seppeltsfield area. Also great for morning runs with space to stretch the legs as there is a cycling/running trail just across the road.
The biggest draw however was the hospitality shown by host Sophia, who made us feel at home. She also whips up fantastic breakfast offerings which the family greatly enjoyed. We stayed in two rooms inside the house, which works better for winter given the cold nights and there is a nice lounge which we can use. If you decide to stay, do say hi to the lovely tabby Oscar but make sure it says outside of the house!
