The location of the Adina is very good for almost all of the downtown locations in Sydney and the rooms are very large.
However, the property is VERY tired, we had to move room as the washing machine and the safe (oldest safe I have ever seen) were broken beyond repair. The bed in both rooms was old, creaky and uncomfortable. At one point the hotel ran out of towels, the old ones were removed from our room so we had nothing at all to shower or wash our hands with. The cleaning was very poor (I was told that they used a 3rd party contractor who clearly does the absolute bear minimum and maybe even less!) and we had to request extra cleaning as nothing had been done for several days. Nothing was hoovered for 5-6 days at a time. The pool and gym area were functional, but again, very old and tired.
We would not stay here again, which is a shame as the location and room sizes could see this property as a very desirable one. It needs a lot of money being spent on it to make it a nice place to stay (we stayed for 12 days across Christmas and the New Year).
The final sad story was meeting a very stressed resident in the lifts on Christmas day with his arms full of dishes full of vegetables for cooking. His cooker had broken (seems like a theme!) and he was having to cook in a different room on different floor! Ah well.....
